144kWh for January. Still less than a year with solar so can't compare with last year, but it was much higher than November.

    A solid month.

7.79kW south facing array, all electric house, no battery or EV.

    West Waterford

Taken in isolation the net cost of imported electricity for the month is €133. It would have been circa. €180 without solar.

224.6kwh from 6.5kw south facing Limerick - Down from 267.5 in 2024 but I suppose with the snow etc it wasnt too bad. Must look at getting a battery this year, anyone know the current costs?

Excellent start to the year. More please. 6.5Kwp in South Dublin City.

    image.png

Nearly 14% above PVGIS - we'll take that, and out of the dark months of Winter (Dec & Jan) - which are bleak. Even got a few kwh exported as I was away on holliers towards the end of the month. Bonus.

Those of us with E/W splits see a huge uptake now over the next 4-6 weeks. Roll on…

well a horrible month . ish

75.8kwh From 7.4 east west split . MAyo

(Jan 2024 97kwh for full month , 33 for last week so would have been worse )

    Best day 15th with 5.7

    Worst days . 24,25,26,27,28,29,30,31 0 kwh .

Barring the last few days, Feb was a bit disappointing….6.5kwp split exactly E/W in South Dublin city.

    image.png

Only 92% of PVGIS and 13% down on last year (although last year we did have the extra day of course with it being a leap year) You can clearly see the lack of sunshine for 10-11 days there mid month.

On the plus side, winter is over as far as I'm concerned as my max production is back into the double digits from now until end of Oct/start of Nov. PVGIS for me for March is 290kWh so it ramps up a lot now……

February was looking like a total wash-out until this last week.

194kWhs for the month, happy enough with that considering the awful ten days with barely anything.

    4.4kwp south/south-east.

It's difficult to compare this Feb with previous as I added 58% more panels on the 14th. Inverter is now pretty much at its limit, as is the front roof. Also lost data for the 13/14. My bad. Two crap days tho. Inverter was also changed under warranty.

    Screenshot_20250301-110206.png

    Here goes anyway

    Screenshot_20250301-110402.png

In real money, pinergy wins this month. I've also started charging a car, so it will be interesting to see how this works over time. Amazing how much electricity it takes too move a vehicle.

    Screenshot_20250301-110248.png

The newer inverter also give me access via HA to data without the cloud in near real-time

    Screenshot_20250301-110604.png

So that's a nice bonus too.

This is my fourth Feb with PV and its was on par with the best over the past few years at 362 kWh

Nearly hit 30 kWh on two days during the last week or so in Feb, middle of the month was a disaster though..

    Roll on March

186kWh in February, 6.45kWp E/W system in Wicklow.

I'll be hitting my 1 year anniversary this month, and I'm already well ahead of the predicted generation from both the installers and the online tools I used when planning the install.

My first February, 7.8kw WSW in North Cork. Got 320kw thanks to a good final 10 days or so after a poor start to the month.

Very solid winter generation there. For comparison my 6.5kWp in E/W rocks in with 50-60kWh in December and 100kWh or so in Jan. Your doing 200+ Kwh!

    Nice

Fortunately I do have the perfect orientation and aspect for winter; I am perfectly facing south (house set out by a surveyor to be within a degree of facing south) and my panels' elevation is about 40 degrees, so they also are ideal for the low winter sun. That wasn't planned by me; I wasn't thinking of PV panels when planning the house, but the architect who designed the house was all over it, fair play to him.

Had a poor month as my system was offline for 10 days due to a ground fault. Fortunately it rectified itself after I disconnected the ground array for a few days. I suspect the deluge of rain that fell in the middle of the month was the reason.

just hit 1 year with the panels so here's my annual report

15 panels (7 east, 8 west) in north Wicklow, 6.45kWp total. 5kW/h battery.

    image.png

I used https://globalsolaratlas.info/ to predict generation when I was researching the system and it predicted 4637kWh, well below what was actually produced (MySolar's quote predicted similar). However Ecoplex's report before they did the installation predicted 5430kWh which is fairly close to reality, I'm not sure why theirs was more accurate but I guess it took the particulars of the system into account.

He's using Home Assistant which has an energy dashboard prebuilt into it. Here is the website for more details Home Assistant

Most people run it on an Raspberry PI, but can be run off a server, NAS or an old laptop etc etc very handy and useful

Two as ECO says it is home assistant. If not already done so I would highly recommend setting it up
