Mmmmmmmh... maybe saying she is more "technically adept" is a bit strong. She doesn't seem to eat or break wind on air as often as the Duffer.

KT is too bland. There are a list if topics of national interest they are not going to talk about. This is not going to change. RTE need a bit of a curmudgeon as the host. In saying that, I always thought Derek Davis did a good job.

Liveline has become the Duffy show, RTE have given up on it, no one from senior mgt want to tackle him,

A family member texted a request to one of Radio 1's music shows last week and just mentioned in the text that they still didn't have electricity or water. Two days later they got a call from a researcher from Liveline inviting them to speak on the show. Caller driven show me hole.

they need to find the next 'Joe'. Having someone competent and boring will ruin the whole show. With the rampant nepotism in RTE, there is surely someone that fits the bill

I think myself when Joe hangs up the cans it should go back to being a serious show tackling contemporary issues. I’m too young to remember but I always felt it had a lot of relevance back in Marian Finucan’s reign. With Joe it’s turned into the Oldies Hour and whatever little campaign Joe is interested in today.

It’s possible to produce a show tackling at least two issues per episode with a bit of a nonsense issue like “Follow That Taxi!” Once or twice a week.

Handing the reins over to Katie we’d both the save tired format is, I hope, not what is planned. I like Katie but she’s good as a reporter but a poor presenter I think. There are lots of relevant current issues of a smaller scale happening that don’t make Claire Byrne or News At 1 and this is what LL should be focused on.

I would not bother. The whole show was about Bridgets.

funny enough I was going to mention George. He can put his foot in it with the best of them. Would make a wonderful replacement for a year or two, honestly !!

    Untitled Image

if George can get this sort of reaction off of newly autistic stefanie preissner, he would make a wonderful host

I remember Marian Finucane on Liveline and even as a chisler I used to enjoy listening when I could. I remember one day we were going to Cork for the weekend to visit relatives and Joe was standing in for Marian. From a light-hearted show it went full on misery with Joe doing his sad voice. On the way back, Marian was back in the chair. The differences in content, in atmosphere was night and day.

I agree it should go back to being a useful public service, People ringing in with things that bother them. I have been trying to get a GP for about a year now. I would ring in if it were a competent host. Not Joe and his "And how does that make you fee-al?"

Joe will be delighted his favourite singer, "Keen the Crow" won the grammy an dat.

Looks like LL* may be innocent of any wrongdoing. Should Duffy be recalled?

There is not a chance of the LiveLine covering in any detail the state of the nations healthcare services. At best we get going abroad to get medical services or chisliers with rare conditions. When was the last time he got Mary had a fall, broke her hip and spent 12 hours in Emergency waiting to be seen, and then put on a trolley in the corridor?

    We all know several Marys.

That is far too an emotive and sensitive a topic for Joe.

And if you can't summarise a story in 2 minutes, then it has no place on any daytime radio show.

how many times are they going to repeat the same topic about drinking at the rugby. If you are paying €100 a ticket, you are entitled to have a drink. If you don't like it GAA fan Martin, stay at home
