You know what, you've got a point there. Donnie does remind me a lot of Emporer Caligula. Caligula's rule was a lot shorter, and his own Praetorian Guard ended his rule by stabbing him to death, but a lot of the same unhinged narcassitic traits are there.

I wonder if Donnie would also attempt to make a horse a senator?

He's a very vindictive man, but its more than just that. He's using this as a threat to keep others from standing out of line.

It is possible that someone like Dr. Anthony Fauci gets attacked or killed and Trump will go on twitter and attack him for not having high enough walls around his house (like he did when the Pelosi's were attacked)

He pardons anyone who commits violence on his behalf, so he has a proto-militia who are already well armed and motivated to act, and every time Trump publicly removes security detail, he might as well go online and post the security PIN number for their alarm and tell them they hide a spare key under a pot next to the garage.

If you were one of the 51 people who signed a letter that contradicts a claim Trump was making about Hunter Biden's laptop, and you knew then, that you would have a target put on your back, and the backs of your family, would you still have signed that letter?

Will experts in the future be prepared to contradict anything Trump does? Some may, but many won't

Every time I see this picture I'm reminded of the quote: 'from each according to his ability, to each according to his need'.

It's invariably posted by someone who is pro-DEI.

All it does is reveal DEI for what it is: Marxism.

I'm glad the fightback has begun in the US. I hope it intensifies. I hope it spreads.

Your knowledge of Marxism is only superseded by your knowledge of Irish Constitutional Law….

I agree with you on this. It isn't that he is speaking without engaging his brain. Trump wanted to say all of this and use this tragedy as a political witch hint. He saw the death of 67 people as a chance to hammer his political enemies, and to try to make himself look better.

And he has no actual evidence for anything. He is simply making things up that suit his own agenda.

He doesn't regret a single thing he said. This wasn't a conference that went slightly off-point, it was the point. He attacked DEI, he attacked the Democrats, particularly Buttigied as everyone knows he is going to be a key Dem from now on.

Imagine this scenario: Your family was on board that flight. Instead of the president coming out to talk about the investigation, imagine how the whole country was there to support you, how your community would rally around you, and how the investigation would be carried out so that such a tragedy could never happen again and leave the devastation that this has.

Instead of that, you see on the screen an angry and bitter man. Complaining about all his opponents and using his pulpit to carry out his political witchhunt. Not even an ounce of sympathy or empathy apart from a pre-scripted speech at the very beginning which he read off like he was reading a school report. He only got invested when it came to what he wanted to talk about.

If you can genuinely say that this is the leader you want then we can at least understand your complete lack of empathy on this issue.

Enough of this horseshit. Dont agree with something and its just "marxism" "woke" "Libtard" rather than any rational argument. The opposition are just "pro DEI" which is just the cults latest pet thing to blame the ills of the world on.

All DEI is everyone should get the chance to show they have the ability to do the job. A disability, race, sex, socio-economic background etc that doesnt impact your ability to perform in a profession should not be an obstacle to entry to that profession and supports should be provided to help overcome obstacles where they exist. They still need to demonstrate the competence to perform the role

I'm glad they found the black boxes or Trump would be saying:

Let me tell you, no one knows more about black boxes than me. Believe me. It's a tremendous technology, okay? The best. They put these black boxes in planes – you know, the planes that are flying all over the world, just like America, the best country. And these boxes, they record everything, everything that happens. They’re basically like your phone, but way more important. But Biden and Obama, they wanted them black, I said they should be red, but them and the DEI and the woke communist left wanted them black.

Why exactly would being a dwarf negatively impact one's ability to work in air traffic control? Trump went on a bigoted rant against vulnerable groups in society and tried to attribute an air traffic disaster to that group. He has no proof of this. And idiots lap it up.

Any reason why you're not commenting on his actual remarks? If you were disabled how would you feel that the president of your country is taking a jab at you? I also finding a certain irony that he's taking a jab at poorly with psychiatric issues who might simply be suffering from depression and anxiety. Meanwhile Elon is on Ketamine and other substances all the time but he's perfectly compos mentis apparently.

I don't know how you can take that away if you understand what marxism is.

First of all, the picture isn't asking any of the people to do anything, it's enabling one of them to participate.

The tall person is not doing any extra work in the 2nd picture but the shortest person is completely excluded in the first picture.

DEI is aimed at making small accommodations to unlock the potential of everyone, the alternative being picture 1, where the tall person can't enjoy the game because he has to explain what is happening to the person who can't see anything. (or the unstated picture 3, where neither of the 2 children can see anything

I wouldn't claim to be an expert in either, everlast75. But then one doesn't have to be one to be aware of the fact that we gave EU law precedence over our own over five decades ago.

You're assuming that they'd survive contact with the local police force.

The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the LORD your God.

No we didn't. The EU can require that we abide by rules that we have participated in creating and agreed to, but our law is our own, and even then it is only a requirement in order to remain within the group, nothing is stopping us opting out. Look at the UK, they did, was that a resounding success?

Why do you put so much energy into stating and repeating things that are just incorrect?

When MAGA in America rails against DEI, it just looks like they object to people from non-white backgrounds having jobs. Same for women. I'm assuming that that's what this is given that the Republicans are now an openly white supremacist party. The same party that chose a TV anchor to head the largest employer of people in the world despite his being objectively and hilariously unqualified for the role.

Article is a year old and says there is a court case this year after many qualified ATCs were turned away because of ethnicity not ability.
This is probably what Trump is referring to and trying to make it link to the tragedy. Completely inappropriate of course.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,572 ✭✭✭eightieschewbaccy

The big thing to note is that it amounts to a claim at this point that isn't proven in court. On top of that, there's no indication that this related to DEI hiring at all.

trump should be grateful for dei. Its allows felons and rapists with multiple bankruptcies in positions of government. Diversity.

    but it’s Biden fault.

Let’s see if high egg prices do anything to Trumps popularity ratings

…or he'd dismiss Black Boxes as "DEI Boxes".

Obviously everyone in the US military needs to be sacked, because it is riddled with DEI, and coincidentally replaced with foaming-at-the-mouth Trump loyalists.

Just on the crash itself, plane crashes attract ignorant speculators like flies to shite, and frequently it's nonsense and doesn't relate to the actual cause of the crash at all. Two cases that jump to mind are the Manx Air crash in Cork and the Air France 447 crash. The truth won't be known until the full accident investigation report is published. Unfortunately, given the Trump administration's gutting and intimidation of government agencies, the truth about this one may never come out at all, and his political goon squad may succeed in rendering the NTSB unfit for purpose.
