Yep. Reported in euros as that’s what the selling club would receive. The poster didn’t specify currency when they said 75m but I assumed they meant euros, as it’s common sense. It doesn’t stop people from getting upset over it though 😂

It obviously was far too much money for him but he is still working hard and has potential.

His cost was very similar to what we paid for Casemiro and at least Rasmus still has a chance to prove his worth.

In what way is he working hard? He's not on the end of chances, is not effectively pressing and isn't contributing much with or without the ball in general.

His potential is based on his pace and a hard shot. He has a lot to improve if he'll ever make it. 30 odd strikers with equal or more league goals than him this season.

Imagine what he would do with a couple of signings.

I also use to give him the benefit of the doubt, I felt there was a player in there but we have to be realistic at this point, he's been an awful transfer.

At this stage I love to see him sold but utd cannot afford it

3 wins in a row..been some time since we seen that. Long may it continue.

Imagine once the Rashford shite is over with those signings.

That second half was very encouraging.

    5-1-1 in the last 7.

Just ignore the 4 defeats in a row before that lol.

Galatasaray apparently about to sign Morata.

In my little dream world of transfer dominoes, Rashford goes to Milan to replace Morata, who goes to Galatasaray to replace Osimhen, who's going to United.

Are you meaning you would prefer yo play galatasary over the other 3?? Just no!! Galatasary is worst tie of those by a country mile. Away is an intimidating fortress, that even fergies teams feared. Think Dennis Irwin or keane spoke about that on overlap. Also a long flight to turkey midweek isn't great.

Loftus-Cheek is out of favor right now so maybe they can sell him and sign MR?

Against relatively poor opposition, without their key player, and they tired significantly. Rangers destroyed them this season.

The positive things I take out of that second half is the confidence it may give the guys, no injuries and we won so no extra games in February!

Alot of potential in this young man.

Hopefully. It would be great if he could adapt to the 10 position as it would give more squad flexibility. I think the team is desperately in need of a FDJ to compliment Ugarte in the middle of the park [ funnily enough the player ETH wanted ] or Barella from Inter. Though I cant see us being in a position to splash the cash on either with all the holes we have to plug

I think long term Toby and Ugarte look a decent pairing. Toby was at no fault last night for being subbed it was purely down to team setup and what was needed for second half. Another few months experience in first team this season he will be in a far better position next season.

I'd still like a cm I'm just not sure in what profile we need.

Edit: oh yeah and his injury forgot about that he had a knock on shoulder.

I genuinely think that's gonna be Bruno. He works his socks off every game and he has the vision to play those line breaking passes that the 10s and CF need to release them in dangerous positions.

Still can't get my head ahead around last night being his first European start.

As long as Mainoo stays fit we're laughing, it seems to take him a while to get his "mojo" back but when he does its a joy.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 48,938 ✭✭✭✭Mitch Connor

If Mainoo is being mentioned as struggling with playing the 8 position because of defensive tracking then Bruno is going to have the same issue imo. He has a better engine than Mainoo but his defensive awareness is poor. I think technically Mainoo is sounder defensively than Bruno.

I think Bruno is fine there for some games, but against Liverpool? I'd fear it in general.

If we transition Mainoo to be a 10 option rather than 8, then we need to sign an 8 - and you also (imo) then put Bruno and Mainoo in direct competition for a place as i don't think the paid together would ballance correctly with the lack of ability to stretch the play with their runs.

I also think everyone may need to cool it a bit on Mainoo at 10 as well. On the ball no issues - but off it there is still a large responsibility to press hard out pf possession and track the opposition fullback as well, so if a reason he can't play 8 is that he struggles with the recovery runs we will see the same issue in 10 surely, or the opposition fullback runs free?

I see them rotating for the one spot. I think himself and Ugarte are quite similar in what they bring to the game (granted that we still have to see a lot more of Collyer before making a proper judgement) and you would need someone more creative in there with either of them.

I wouldn't expect to see them as a pairing too much unless it was a backs against the wall or closing out the game situation

good ole joel still running the show apparently (vetos, finances) - if that is the case, jim has some answers to provide.

Sources have confirmed that Glazer retains the right to sign off and veto deals even though Sir Jim Ratcliffe assumed control of the club's football operations with his 27.7% minority stake last season.

lecce playing tonight. per goldbridge (deal with it) dorgu will be playing for them tonight. if that is the case we are an embarrassment.

was that 1 cross out of 1, or 74 out of 74?

hate when stats are given as a percentage - we can do basic math ourselves - usually its done to oversell a stat.

I hope this doesn't restart the veto arguments that were going on while ETH was here, they were draining to read through.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 48,938 ✭✭✭✭Mitch Connor

The bit you quote in your post is a nothing issue, entirely. and has always been known.

Legally speaking the majority owners of the club cannot completely delegate any area of the club. If there was some financial malpractice with regards to transfers that Glazers are not allowed to say it is nothing to do with them. as majority shareholders they maintain a legal responsibility to the stock holders.

So we have a 3 man team over the sporting body which is Joel, Ratcliffe and Brailsford (I think). That body and the members of it must be legally aware of and responsibile for the decisions made below it. So Joel HAS to have a level of authority over it.

This was all laid out in the SEC filings and bid documents. more than a year ago.

The understanding (in terms of how it has been reported, not saying this is exactly the case cause i can't know), from the off, has been that Joels position would not be one to exert actual control or authority.

THe piece further in the article where it talks of him being more hands on than previous would be concerning, but I also can't understand how it would be the case. Berrada, Vivel and Hargreaves are employed to do transfer negotiations. In what way are they saying Joel is 'hands-on' with negotiations? He is the one negotiating the deal with Lecce? He negotiated Dorgu's contract? He is the one discussing Garnacho with Napoli? None of that seems likely - given what he did perviously was set other people to do that and then demand sign off on each step; why would he be more hands on NOW?

IMO - Its a Luckhurst article, so I would pay it no mind as to reality and he is taking pieces of truth (Joel legally still having responsibility) and framing it in the most negative way he can.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 48,938 ✭✭✭✭Mitch Connor

Dorgu potentially playing tonight I can't get my head around.

If the deal is agreed, why would you risk playing him? He could get injured in his first United training session, thats always a gamble with any player - but if he played and picked up an injury tonight, surely that puts massive question marks on whether you complete the deal at all.

If he did his ACL, no chance you sign him, for example. Even if he pulls a hammy that will keep him out for a month do you sign him now when he won't be able to play til March or later or do you put the money into someone like Tel (if there is interest)

Very odd. for both sides, and the player.

But that would imply that journalists aren't 100% honest in how they report about United. Surely not…
