Looks like a new EV plan coming out tomorrow from energia. Be interesting to see if rates stay similar for EV rate or ev hours increase/decrease

Same here and won't be moving as long as the export rate stays as it is and the EV rate. Could do with an extra hour EV in the winter but happy as is if stays the same.

Thought may suit others though who don't have large storage as it seems there will be a night rate of about 19c and the EV rate from 2-6 staying the same. Peak rate and increased day rate too with it.

Is this it, the "EV Smart Drive Plus" plan? Pretty disappointing if so:

The 4h slot is helpful compared to the just 3h slot of Pinergy, but the EV rate is 60-80% higher. Looks like I will be renewing with Pinergy, possibly early. That means I won't be able to have my gas cut off until at least late 2027. For shame.

The government is missing lots of opportunities here to stimulate people to move away from burning fossil fuels. A bonus for people switching off gas and a free upgrade from the standard 12kVA to the more suitable 16kVA for an electric home would do the trick for a lot of people, me included. Forget about insane €6,000 subsidies for heat pumps and even more insane subsidies for deep retrofits.

Jeez think the biggest killer for this plan is that if you use more than 1000kwh in two months on the EV slot the price doubles 🙈

Energia is back to their old nasty habit of punishing and overcharging people who use a lot of the greenest electricity. Just like they did a few years ago. Only worse this time ☹️

Still with Energia but due to move and really not sure where to go.

20kwh batteries + HP + 3.3kw car charger.

On the cold nights I really need that 4 hr window even with 18kw MIC

10kw battery + 6kw HP + ~ 1kw house load doesn't give me much space to charge the car.

Can't fit another battery realistically, especially if I'm looking at getting a second EV etc.

Really only have 72kwh to play with (energia) or 54kwh with the 3 hour window pinergy.

20kwh battery + 24kwh heat pump (cold night) + 12kwh for one ev + 2 or 3 kwh for house load = 58kwh

I know not every night is cold etc, but who knows how long these 4 hour windows will last too.

Realistically would need 3 phase if I was looking at another battery.

I inspect it every so often for that same reason and more recently I (or my sparky friend I should say) added a shellyem with temp sensors to each of the big draw breakers, and temps sit somewhere in the region of 35-47c at full load (about 65a)

With the added benefit that now I am able to setup automation if it gets too warm, reduce charging of batteries or EV.

Half-tempted to put in a few noctua fans in there to keep things even cooler.

If you have too much bandwidth and still have some battery to fill, just get a €80 rectifier. We have a dedicated thread on them here on the forum
