Here we go, first DGW of the season.

I have moved on Sanchez to Pickford and Enzo to Kluivert (for the run after GW24) before price changes tonight. 1 FT left and will be getting in Gakpo and then TC Salah. Will leave AMC until DGW later in season.

Kluivert and Quantarra in for post GW 24,AMC on Moyes, just to compensate for a 0-0 v Liverpool

Diaz to Kluivert and Mateta to Gakpo for a hit. Watch Diaz haul now but he's been awful lately.

    Will TC Salah.

Debating Faes to Mykolenko or Fleckken to Pickford as have triple Liverpool

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,376 ✭✭✭✭shmeee

Pickford has higher ceiling I feel and can concede but still get save points.

So the two questions I had on the manager chip were answered on YouTube…but I'll add them here anyway for info in case others

First Question, If the Manager is Suspended or Booked it makes no difference, it's the team that gets the points…

The second question I had is, the extra points for teams 5 places above you…This is from the start of the game week, so if a team is playing Monday and drops places from Friday/Sat/Sun games, does not matter

Anyway, Play Slot this week and see what I need to change probably for the last week against City.

    Thinking Palmer out for Mbuemo

I think he is wasted at Chelsea if the attackers can’t finish.

Just on the DGW players. Gakpo is in great form and I wish I owned him last week and for the run now as he does look to be first choice now in the attack.

But, he has travelled mid-week when the majority of senior players have not travelled. So he is going to be one of the starters in the mid-week team to try and have some experience on the pitch. To counter this, he did have the previous mid-week off in the CL and his minutes have been managed throughout January - 86/60/0/90/87/0/68 so there has been a few breaks.

And I do think that Nunez has a strong chance of also starting this game, even though he is not exactly a starter these days. I think it's down to how he plays against Bournemouth, and he is really able to bully their defenders. I was at the home game this season where he scored, and also made some key actions leading to Diaz scoring which Slot would have liked. He also scored 3 goals away at Bournemouth in 1.5 games last season.

We'll know more tonight with how many minutes both playing. I suspect one will get 80ish minutes and then be a sub at the weekend with Diaz & Salah starting.

Looks like it. Liverpool were 3-2 down at the time. Keep him fresh.

Gakpo subbed off after 50 mins and got a lengthy enough standing ovation from both sets of fans..…should be a nice confidence boost ahead of the DGW

Rogers gets a hat trick and Watkins scored one and took and missed the worst penalty I've seen in a long time, slipped and fouled the ball.

Rogers gets the start the weekend so, and I say I'll still move on Gakpo from Watkins. Other option is to move on Mateta instead, have ITB cash.

I could do the obvious transfer of Raya to Alisson but I'm thinking about Raya to Henderson and Munoz to TAA for a -4. Is it worth it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,361 ✭✭✭fplfan12345

That’s a hard one as Munoz is enjoyable to own but I do see the attraction to TAA.

    I don’t think I’d take that hit.

The form that Trent is in now, he is captainable.

Ipswich: 1 assist, 0.5 xA, 2 shots, hit the post.

Brentford: Clean Sheet, 1 assist, 0.7 xA, 4 shots.

    Forest: 0.3 xA, 1 shot.

    Man Utd: horror show.

West Ham: clean sheet, 1 goal, 0.1 xA

    Leicester: 0.5 xA, 1 shot

But saying that, Bournemouth's attacking form would lead me to think that Liverpool will concede in that game so a big reduction in point potential.

This weekend is the biggest captaincy headache so far this season and we have to wait 12 days to see if whatever we do is the correct decision.

I will bring in kluivert cos after the pool game bourne have decent fixtures

Liverpool have 4 draws in last 8 league matches. 4 wins v Leicester, Ipswich, Spurs and WHU. Arguably the worst teams in the league bar Southampton. Away to Everton and Bournemouth are tough games. I can see a loss and a draw from those 2 games. It wouldn't surprise is what I'm saying, (more than it's something I expect). It's lunacy not to Captain Salah but my armband is currently on Isak. Are Liverpool really all that or are the chasers just not that great?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,601 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

well it's 4 draws in 9 league games but I take your point. There have been points dropped alright, even if Salah did score big in those draws.

I think they were unlucky to draw away against Newcastle (last minute Kelleher howler) and Fulham (played most of the game with 10 men and created a lot during that too). Forest away was a tough game also, with Sels & Murillo having a stormer. I think Liverpool would be happy with 4 points playing away to both Bournemouth and Everton. The same way they would have been happy with 4 points away to both Forest & Brentford. There's a few away tricky combos that have come up in the fixture list recently for Liverpool but have come out of it relatively unscathed and their lead intact.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Bournemouth score, but with Konate back fully fit now and that sickness in the camp looking to be back I think Liverpool are looking an awful lot more solid at the back. I think he was rushed back for that Man Utd game because of other injuries and it showed. He said he was playing with painkillers also. But against Forest, Brentford & Ipswich they looked an awful lot more solid with Forest scoring their only big chance of the game, Brentford not scoring and Ipswich scoring a very late consolation goal at 4-0 down and lots of subs made.

And just to add, I think that if Nunez starts v Bournemouth, it will suit Salah an awful lot more than if Gakpo and/or Diaz start at CF.

Guys can an assistant manager be picked on wildcard? Or is that a separate chip completely?

Haven't been paying attention to the rules of it yet.

You can't combine chips, and this would fall under that category as far as I know.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,733 ✭✭✭sheroman01

Yeah, I'm gonna do it. It's not just for the DGW, it's for his next few fixtures too which are great.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,361 ✭✭✭fplfan12345

Jackson to Wissa done to leave me with 1.5m to use AM chip on Slot. All done with 2 FT’s.

Had already done Jota to Mbuemo so now hoping Brentford thump Spurs.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,699 ✭✭✭✭Green&Red

    Had planned on TC

Looking at playing the AMC on slot, means VVD to mykolenko.

Would hope spurs go through, Fulham manager has a great chance of the bonus home to forest.

Have the option of Wissa in for Wood but think I'll hold off for a week.

    Likewise gordon to mbeumo

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,699 ✭✭✭✭Green&Red

    Looking at those two myself.

    Wood → Wissa

    Gordon → Mbeumo

Would you do both this week or hold gordon for this week and go on mbeumo next?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,733 ✭✭✭sheroman01

Jesus, I was gonna do -4 for TAA in and TC Salah. I'm still tempted by that and use AM chip on Emery in DGW25. But as I only have double Liverpool right now, and have 1.6m itb, it probably makes sense to use AM chip on Slot now. Think I'll just do that. Could see Liverpool winning with a clean sheet against Everton and Wolves so that'd be 18pts on just two games being won 1-0.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,376 ✭✭✭✭shmeee

Is that you're 2 FTs used then? Potential DGW for Rogers/Watkins/Raul or even Havertz in 25. Would you hold out on moving on Wood then this GW and wait until we know DGW25? Look ahead at what could be down the line. I don't see the huge love affair to jump into Brentford as heavy this GW TBH, Spurs are so unpredictable. And you'd want to hold them for GW25 too v WH but the temptation of a DGW will also come in. It is pure FOMO, it seems like. I just fell people are going to be jumping from player to player this week and next week, and not getting the best fixture for that player. Especially when you need to have a FT when moving on that AMC if active. That's my 2 cents!

I'm trying to decide whether to bring in Rodgers this week and try get his form carrying through with a potential double game week next week. Or else leave him until next week and see does he have a double game week (ipswich and liverpool) and instead buy Kluivert this week for his form even though his fixture is difficult now and get easier next week. (southampton and then wolves)

Rodgers has Wolves this week so is it better to buy him this week and then maybe bring Kluivert in for someone else next week?
