As the person who started this thread I can confirm it was never intended to be a borderless conversation. Gangland meant Kinahan and Hutch and associates. Not Billy Smith from Portrush.

Appreciate boards has turned to complete shite, ironically due to the mall cop mods, and it needs as much traffic as it can get, even if it means turning threads into discussing fictional characters from the north.

And to be clear, this isn’t a discussion on mod actions, this is a general observation. This isn’t a reply to anyone, nor a comment on any mods actions.

That presents a problem when that feud has pettered out, thankfully there aren't as many active feuds right now . C

Dont know much about him + publicity didnt seem that big around the case either. As only seen it in the paper yesterday. Said he was the second shooter but had safety on so never actually fired any shots. bit of a weird one, why would he do that! As it didnt make a difference as he still got life.

The majority of irish hit men arent the sharpest tools.. so it doesnt surprise me that his safety was on.

Theres been countless stories of hits that have missed due to bad accuracy, guns misfiring, guys off their heads on coke etc..

Another "New INLA" associate, believe it or not, he definitely messed it up because Keogh left no doubt , he was just standing there pointing his gun like a gimp wondering why it wouldn't fire while Hutch slumped over dead from Keoghs bullets

Keogh apparently was found with info relating to Vinnie Ryan's murder too, and Thomas "Nicky" McConnell was questioned about it

    Socialist revolutionaries 😂

@Paul_Crosby  I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills, skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. IF YOU KEEP POSTING NONSENSE I WILL TERMINATE YOU 🥷

I'm telling you about Nicky McConnell who got done for shooting Gareth Hutch with Jonathan Keogh, is that "off topic" now too?

As for McConnell leaving the safety on, he's a gimp that's why, Keogh was a pipebomb maker who knew how a safey catch worked but McConnell was there because the "New INLA" crew had about 12 members, and about 6 who could shoot ,Eamon Cumberton who shot Michael Barr was also a New INLA member/associate , and Nathan Kinsella had to get a transfer because Cumberton was threatening to Kill him in jail this year

as the easy targets kept getting taken out the hitmen worth their salt were either jailed, effed off elsewhere, or decided they weren't going to get involved in Daniel Kinahans personal purge because it became obvious he's just throwing money at everyone and this wasn't a feud over territory it was Daniel Kinahans personal revenge on Gary Hutchs relatives and it's alright for him being halfway across the world (Declan Duffy wasn't involved outside his feud with Thompson as he turned down Eamon Cumbertons offer of work with the Kinahans)

With Cumbertons distinctive glasses it's been suggested it was he and Keogh who went into the bar on Lanzarote after Hutch, who said one of the hitmen on that occasion was known to have wore glasses and had taken them off

They ended up using junkies for spotters and junkies for hitmen to clear debts

Shooting at a caseload of people.after his mate got a smack, yes that's a guy with dangerous connections, dangerous weapons, and absolutely no brains, he wasn't told you have to become an informer to get away with things like that, and even then daylight shootings are pushing it

Still cannot believe that Whacker Duffy is doing life for killing an enemy soldier during the Troubles when he was barely of adult age. Considering the amount of genuinely evil villains walking around scot-free up there and in Britain to this day. I know he was no angel but it seems ridiculous

He'd already been sentenced and released under the 2 year term for paramilitary crimes pre-1998 , but they used Duffys active involvement in massive criminality and his known associates at the time of his arrest for false imprisonment (Martin Byrne incident I believe )to make an argument that Duffys active threat to society makes him ineligible for another early release as he has to serve the tarriff for the shooting. Hence his apparent eagerness to prove he's a changed man who will pursue a righteous path. Really, Duffy only has himself to blame for being elbow deep in extortion and security rackets, feuds, extorting drug dealers (leading to Thompson feud) and partly responsible for this "New INLA"" crew, basically the Ballymun rent-a -killer group, eventually not much more than a Kinahan murder cell

Of course they were going to find a way to keep him in long term

Not the most outrageous sentence said judge has given for sure, but I'd be curious to know why he "suspects" Hennessy won't offend again.

Be interesting to see exactly how the Judge's 'suspicion" works out alright.

He might have to avoid a few other things flying his way with a sentence like that, even with a judge with form, accusations first maybe lead second

Is there an active feud with GW?

I come in peace, I think I can make an argument for this belonging here, this covers people involved in cross border crime, and Warren Crossan was said to be the one who provided the car in the Lawlor hit, this does a good job of piecing together the Alphabet soup of dissidents, and how the "New IRA" have fallen at the first hurdle after a sprinting start while ONH (Original Michael McKevitt loyal faction that started the Real IRA) have consolidated much of the "dissident" power after an initial bad start when the New IRA started flexing its muscle

Note :I think Kevin Conway Jrs murder may have had something to do with him firing shots at former Provo and dissident top man Colin Duffys house, as Conways dad Kevin Sr, a criminal himself, was killed by the PIRA unit headed by Duffy while he babysat Kevin Jr

(Sean McGlincheys enigmatic character in Love/Hate is based on Duffy, the Massarene barracks shooter, and I think Titanic fellas kneecapping "don't need riffraff in the movement" was symbolic of the NIRA housekeeping of the Ryan faction )

Shooting at Duffys house with his kids inside, probably had something to do with it, Duffy is a dissident Hero, hiding in West Belfast was no good

Youd wonder what the fcuk some of these judges are thinking

Have to say, I'm a big fan of gangland stuff. I love most of the stuff you post.

You're quite clearly very knowledgeable on the stuff you do post.

I probably got a fascination with it from maybe around the Gilligan era, and definitely around the local scene.. I'm in Cork, so the Crinnion/Delaney/O'Flynn stuff.

I know you get the odd kick/ban,, so wondering if you'd be interested in starting something like a thread on older gangland stuff, if the mods allowed it??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 702 ✭✭✭Paul_Crosby

To be fair it was suggested, I guess I was Inadvertently taking over the thread , which it's now been made clear is not really cross border. Fair enough no more arguments, I would like to start a thread on old Irish gangland, and old/concurring feuds in the North, I wonder what forum it would be appropriate for

Those fuckers have been having too much of their own product. The thing is,the guy probably won't press charges or help with the investigation so they'll probably get away with it

    Maybe ask/pm a mod..

While I can only speak for myself, I'd be definitely interested in whatever you post, and most definitely the stuff I already mentioned.

Also, and now because of the Robbie Lawlor hit, I really do think that the North could be brought into this, considering where it happened.

Glad to be corrected by the mods though.
