Joking with a pal last night that where we used to organise football weekends away, our joy now comes in the form of the toasted sandwich and a chat in a café somewhere.

So this most important of questions must be answered.

What cafe or spot for a half hour chat with a mate does the best toasted sandwich in Waterford. Tramore, Dunmore etc included.

Criteria - Eat in. Crisps & Salad option essential, with chips is a bonus but not vital.

No ‘my mother’s kitchen table’ answers. It diminishes seriousness of the quest. 🥪

I’ve given this due consideration and I am widening the criteria suffiently to include paninis, wraps and ciabattas once they can be accompanied by salad and crisps as a lunch option.

I’ll tread warily on this one but the Broadstreet does a fairly decent toasted special, chips come with it and a salad that’s a bit “take it or leave it”. Also, as I write - Geoff’s toasted special is a good one.

The toasted chicken wrap in Moe's Tramore was excellent at the weekend. Just crisps with it, no salad but I'll let that slide. Rumour has it, the toasties in Molly's on the prom are good and I'm happy to take one for the team and go see if this is true over the next few days.
