Never had a storm wake me before. 3am around Fermoy was intense. Luckily all the weaker trees around the house were taken out by Darragh.

Ophelia felt tame, compared to this

I obviously slept through the worst winds here in Cork City 🤣 Lovely sleep all the same! Still have power but a lot of places around showing up on powercheck website as having none.

Just had a quick walk with the dog in Dublin 8. Very windy but one thing I'm surprised at is that Storm Owen hasn't seemed to brought any rain thankfully

You're not supposed to go live with a grid connection. If you have isolated from the grid you're fine.

Same here in west Waterford. 30km in land from Dungarvan.

pergola and fence panels took a beating in Limerick, up since 4.30am, wind was unreal..still gusting a fair bit and I'm just outside the city, hate to think what its like in more open areas.

D9 and no damage to be seen in estate just a few “covers” of things blown off and no spare trampolines in the garden despite the abundance of them around.

Little lad up since 615 with the wind. My ear plugs to drown out the OH so I don’t murder him worked a treat apart from a gust at 2.57 that set off a few car alarms

My barometer of weather … weather so bad I let two wild cats stay in the back hall last night. The poor divils were petrified. Limerick

Everything seems okay in Naas so far.

Still have power and water. My house must be protected from the wind but I did hear one or two gusts make the roof creak

May have been whipped up from a council salt pile?

Dublin dodged it relatively speaking. Storm centres really need to cross the island for us to break into orange and red territory. Hope everyone is alright elsewhere as that was one wild night for many.

1)out walking in a red warning a bit irresponsible and 2) it’s Éowyn

no damage in cork city, no trees down etc in my estate thankfully. Looks like we really got away with it. Absolutely shocked at the record winds speeds, gusts and power outages. Absolutely mental storm

Little or no updates from people near the Connemara and Mayo coast. Those look like the areas worst affected having taken the brunt of this storm. No power and no cell phone reception is my guess. It's ominous sign that weather stations at Mace Head and Belmullet were offline last few hours. Might have recorded even higher gusts than that 183 kmph. I expect quite extensive damage here. Hope everyone is safe.

    Good morning everyone.

    NE Meath here.

I think we peaked in the last hour or so. It is steady-ish now and gusts a bit less frequently.

Power still on, but lots of outages all around us.

there aren’t any around here. Very rural. Secondary roads at most. Didn’t get much snow

If Met Eireann have their timings right and the worst of it is over in Greystones then we’re very lucky, Darragh was much worse than this for us.

it is windy but not memorably so here.

I thought we were over worst here in south carlow but there’s still a lot of energy in it.

sorry to ask again but a big tree has fallen into my front garden where the car park is, the tree is no from my house land but from the outside land (not sure if private or public)

It might have fallen 1,5-2. Hours ago

would you please know which is the appropriate authority to reach in this case or i need to cover it myself?

    Thanks

Not sure Dublin dodged it to be honest, treees down all over the place etc. I was woken at 5am and could hear the windows shaking and haven't heard that in many years, even sounds from the roof I have never heard
