    Very good point.

Super League idea worked out very well for UEFA, they got to shape the tournament as they wanted because they saw how much fans rallied against the alternative

According to the Deloitte Football Money League 2025 report, the club's revenue increased by 5% in 2024 and the wages/revenue ratio remained the same at 63%.

Summer 2023 Departures: Fabinho, Firmino, Henderson, Keita, Milner, Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Summer 2023 Arrivals: Endo, Gravenberch, Mac Allister, Szoboszlai.

How could the wages for the new arrivals have exceeded those of the players that left the club?

Doubters to Believers trailer, hits Prime on Feb 28th

(couple of days old, apologies if someone's already posted it, I hadn't seen it though)

never really saw the sense in arguing one player is better than the other it’s pretty subjective in a sense you have your own opinions. All we care about is from now to May Salah’s goals help us win the league - everyone else can watch YouTube videos of Hazard and Henry if it floats their boats.

Got a months sub for nowTV before xmas with the extra games on TNT as well, anyway sub is up,

I liked the convienence of not having to hunt for streams and having to reload them every 5 minutes but ultimately i'm a cheap bastard and i won't be renewing at €70 odd a month, what other cheaper options are out there if any?

Now tv can be got fairly cheap, you'll find codes in this thread...

Or you could go foreign and free (and legit) by looking at goldiefresh's wonderful playlist here...

There's a lad on Boards on Bargain Alerts who seems to have links to most games.

That Now TV Bargains thread is fantastic, normally get Sky and TNT for between 20 and 25 a month for both.

I have been using Now TV for sports and keep getting deals to renew for 6 months at a time for £20 a month

Hi, I'm just wondering is there any chance of getting a ticket for the game at the weekend outside the stadium? If this is against boards rules I apologise and delete mods.

Not sure I understand? Are you looking to buy a ticket from someone potentially selling theirs on the street?? If that's the case, you have zero chance.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,400 ✭✭✭✭Electric Nitwit

And just to add, very very high chance of anyone saying they have a ticket being a scammer. Sorry to put a downer on it, but I wouldn't even try

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,363 ✭✭✭Ottoman_1000

Exactly. Although I haven't seen touts selling outside Anfield in years. They're to busy scamming everyone now online since the move to paperless tickets.

Yeah was thinking as much. Have a last minute change of plans and I'm gonna be in Liverpool at the weekend so was just wondering. Thanks for the replys though.

We are continuing to use NFC (near field communication) technology for stadium entry in the new season and all tickets will be digital on a smartphone, in the form of an NFC pass.

All season ticket holders, LFC Official Members and seasonal hospitality members must download their NFC passes to their smartphone before arriving at their turnstile to ensure they are all set to gain access into Anfield.

There will be no Print@Home or paper tickets.

There was an additional members sale for this one so it didn't sell out initially. Decent chance of some late tickets, just get to the ticket window early when it opens, you might as well chance it if you're out that way anyway

Unfortunately it's 3pm so you won't get to watch in the pub

There’s tickets on StubHub but they’re pricy, minimum €200. Having said that even if you did find a tout you’d be paying at least £120.

Might be worth keeping an eye on the site though, they might go down in price if there’s any available right before the game.

Sounds like the club are keen on Kerkez, who won't be available until the summer… so in the meantime I've been wondering about Ben Chilwell on loan as short term depth on the left. Could probably even get him on subsidised wages, the same as Chelsea are doing with Sterling at Arsenal. I see Dortmund are linked to him, but they surely couldn't afford much more than quarter his wages, while we could cover half and still have a pretty no-risk situation. He reported wants to stay in the PL too.

I had the very same thought but assumed it'd be laughed out of town. It's a very logical move if you think about it though his injury record isn't pristine I don't think. Kerkez now would be perfect but probably not an option.

When was last time you saw Ben Chilwell play, was it 5 years ago. Both our left backs are far better than Chillwell.

If one of Robbo/Tsimi were out injured for a couple of months, i’d have no problem taking a punt on Chilwell. But otherwise im fine with waiting till the summer for Kerkez. Albeit a big bid next week witn Tsimi going the other way would be ideal!

I see we've given the dreaded 12.30 kickoff away to Villa on 15th March

Pending we don't get to League Cup final which will be the 16th

Since Chilwell did his ACL in the 21/22 season he has had recurring issues with the same knee and his hamstring. He missed the end of last season due to his knee flaring up and Southgate opted to bring Luke Shaw who hadn't played 90 minutes of football since January into the England squad for the Euros instead of him. That was a questionable decision but perhaps the England camp were privy to more information regarding him.

He wasn't named in either the Premier League or European squads for Chelsea so he hasn't played competitive football since before the end of last season apart from 45 minutes in an early round of the Carabao Cup. He is no way fit enough to play LB for us this season and would be a major injury risk.

A move to a more pedestrian league will probably suit him best but finding a club willing to pay his wages is going to be the stumbling point for Chelsea.

We'll be grand with the two guys we've got.

And gomez can cover LB when he returns

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,819 ✭✭✭✭citytillidie

Can also change if Villa get the UCL last 16 and play away on the Wednesday before

One slight flaw in your comparison with the Conference League. Whilst it's true it only had 6 league games, most of the qualified teams had to play 2/3 rounds of games in the mid/late summer to get into that League phase. Everyone (including no-brainers like Chelsea, Fiorentina, Betis) had to play at least one play-off round. By contrast 30 of the 36 Champions League teams went straight into the 8 game group phase.

So while the Champions League has extra games this month, the Conference had the same/more games, just at an earlier stage.

I wouldn't assume StubHub tickets aren't dodge either. Wouldn't touch that site with a bargepole

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,522 ✭✭✭McFly85

Only mention it because the time I used it it worked really well. Got tickets for a Burnley game, got sent the e-ticket and ended up being in the premium level despite not being advertised that way.

Used it a couple of times since and it’s been grand, at at least unlike a tout there’s some recourse if there’s any issue.

A comfortable win today would really settle my nerves for the road ahead, we've got too many away games against top half teams to go, going 1 behind and scraping a 2-1 win against Ipswich is not how you want to be.
