Cutting border on wooden floor - tool to cut into corners?

folks, laying a wooden floor (18mm engineered), and will have a border to inlay after. I’m cutting the straight line with a plunge saw which works great, but the saw can’t get into a corner due to the size of the blade. Is the only solution a multi tool? Or is there any other tool? A jigsaw doesn’t work, Iv found that out!

Multi-tool is the only thing I can think of for cutting in a corner.

Only other thing that might do it is a jigsaw with a special wide forward cutting blade…..

but that has to cut through and not have anything below what you are cutting.

Can I ask why you are doing the inlay "after"? Can you not frame out the inlay now, fit the flooring up to it, then do the inlay, then continue the flooring to the wall/skirting?

maybe border is a better term to use. This goes around the perimeter of the flooring. The flooring inside it is herringbone pattern and very difficult create perfect cuts. Cutting straight edge along the perimeter gives a great straight cut.

Ah gotcha, in that case, how wide is the border and can not you just make the border wider?

I have the same setup in 2 rooms and we have a border of 2 planks wide around it and it frames it nicely.

Cant remember if our planks or 100 or 120 wide, will take a photo later if I think of it!
