Help! Moved into a house and don't know how to disable the old alarm

As per title just moved into a house and don't know how to disable the alarm. Was never able to get the code for the alarm off previous owner. Just had cleaners in and they must have knocked off one of the sensors because the alarm is going off now.

…in 1995 maybe. I doubt that PhoneWatch would be that willing to release the master pin without signing you into a new alarm system and contract.

I think you would be best off contacting an independent alarm company and having them disable it as it's around 30 years old and it sounds like a tamper has been disturbed. They can just pull the power and battery and leave it, or they can look at quoting you for a new one.

Looks like an old Aritech Horizon type system! Best call any alarm company or open up the control panel and disconnect the main battery after isolating the mains power to it too.

It's a Scopetronic Homeguard, written on the keypad.

Best to get someone in to check it over as it's over 30 years old

We've no intention of keeping this system, getting house renovated in a couple of months so ideally just want it disconnected altogether for now. Will ring a security company to see if they can come do that

Can you check your mains switchboard? When we moved into our current house we had the same issue. The security alarm was on it's own switch in the board so we could just turn it off there.

Yes that did it! Fuse wasn't on the main switchboard but on a separate fuse box beside the alarm unit. Pulled the fuse and all good now 👍
