Slow to open threads(shaky scrolling)

The issue with scrolliing threads,whilst possibly slightly improved has not -at my end ,anyway - gone away at all ,even if those threads have been closed.

It has occurred to me that the problem might possibly be connected to links within quotes (especially twitter?) taking a long time to load.

If that ,or related is the case then would it be possible for users to choose to open the whole thread without external links needing to be opened at all.

Might it also encourage people to argue their point rather than link dumping? (of course many links are valuable)

Is this technically feasible- to allow users to toggle between a streamlined view of the thread ,(without links ) and a complete view ,if that is what they want?

Happens to me on pages without links, specifically if I click to a specific post link it bounces up and down for a few seconds. If I scroll away it brings me back so I just have to leave the page alone whenever it happens.

Happens in every thread for me at the minute, anything with a link to a comment. The more comments on the page the worse it seems but yes, like you, it happened in this one as well.

A dedicated thread for issues like this, it has been reported since it began on the 18th of December or before that with no solution yet. It was said in the bugs thread it is to do with the amount of quotes on a thread loading that seems to be what's causing it. Thread below.
