    Hi,

My wife has a potential oppertunity based out of London, but working fully remote.

My understanding is that she'll pay UK Tax and Natoinal Insurance. She does a return to revnue and if Irish Tax calculated is more than the UK tax she has to pay the difference. Does this Irish Tax Calculation include USC? Is paying NI in the UK and not paying PRSI correct?

Obviously will get more specific advice if the need arises but just ot have a rough idea to compare take home pays.

    Thanks.

See https://bordeorpeople.info/ for lots of things you need to think about.

Yeah i was having a look at that before posting here, but the rules are a bit different for crossing the border vs remote working. You seem to get trans border worker relief when you are physically crossing the border but that doens't come into play if you aren't crossing the border.

"This relief is for people who are resident in Ireland, but work and pay tax in another country. You can claim it if you travel daily or weekly to your place of work outside Ireland." According to revenue.

If she's full remote, then either she sets up as a contractor, invoices them and handles her own taxes - or they need to set up as an employer here.

Hmm ok thank you, I contract myself so we could probably both go through the my company if it came to it. They do have a presense in Ireland for different areas of the business so maybe they'd need to pay her through one of those for simplicity, I'll see how things progress anyway and if they do make an offere we can discuss the options with them.
