Dublin Airport arrival time for long haul?

Usually it's 3 hours before take off for a long haul flight, but is that the same if you have done online check in and just need to drop luggage?

Flight at 8am so wondering if really need to be there 5am 🤔

Define long haul. If going to the US then you need plenty of time to go through immigration, if going to Canada or UAE then things will not be as tight.

It would help if you said where you're going and what airline. Qatar to Doha? For the US I'd allow 3 hours, otherwise 2 should be fine.

2 hours is plenty if not requiring to queue at check in desk

Long haul generally requires extra time for airlines to check your visas etc are in order but if you're checked in online then presumably that's all done already

US pre clearance is a little different

I got back from Australia yesterday, flew out Christmas Eve around 1pm and had allowed 3 hours to check-in at the Emirates counter and go through security. Surprisingly there wasn't a queue at security and we got through extremely quickly. Two hours would have been plenty of time. That was Terminal 2.

Check to see how many other flights especially long haul flights are flying out around the same time.
