I’ve no idea to be honest, I never use YouTube music as it’s not compatible with garmin. The odd time though when I ask Google to play some music videos it always reverts to some random songs with no video.

I have both (a Deezer TK single sub that for some reason keeps taking it's monthly payment, only 67c a month). They are both good and similar to Spotify nowadays. Deezer has good AI where it keeps playing decent similar tunes once your list is over.

If you set your VPN to Uk you can watch and download bbc iplayer content.

You are a khaki coloured bombardier, it's Hiroshima that you're nearing.

And to get the app if on android just go to apkmirror and search for latest. If on apple, set up an apple id with UK as the region and it'll be available in app store then. You won't need vpn to download it (but will to use it)

For the Play Store to see iPlayer: create a second Google account, log into that one via a UK VPN and then from a web browser, go to play.google.com - not via the app. As long as you haven't set up payment information on your new account, Google should show you content from the country you're "in". You should then be able to search for iPlayer and send it to your device. It doesn't show up on the Play Store outside of the UK or on non-UK Google accounts.

The other method (apk) is easier tbh but just make sure you download from a safe website.

Finally dumped out of Argentina today so signed up via Poland for €11 for the family, still better than €26

Kazakhstan worked for me today. 5 euro for a single sub

Worked for me a few days ago using ProtonVPN through Poland. Tried Peru first but that wouldn't work, still showed Irish prices.

    Incognito in Firefox.

Payment went out today from Revolut. €6.17

Might be worth creating a disposable YouTube account if doing this, some people on reddit say that they've had their Google accounts blocked when this trick was detected.

I haven't seen a single report of that from any one here on boards getting their account blocked so far thankfully and we are all at it a long time now

Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue

If they go down that road with many users, you'll get people very annoyed.

That's definitely a worry. Going to watch that reddit thread with interest.

I reckon there's more to it than just paying for premium using a VPN, I can't see Google deleting and banning an account over that, surely as a business they're going to want you to miss having no ads and pay for premium in your own country?

I'd want to see more than a couple of reports on a single reddit thread before I start being concerned.

Yep no offence to the op but I wouldnt be worrying about some randomer on Reddit, probably a Google employee 😂

I'd have thought If this actually happened. That sub forum would be swamped with similar threads or at least one person here would have had a similar issue. Presuming it's currently either trolling or as it was said earlier, there is a lot more to the story.

A very valid point. I also note they don't want to loose their "channel"

Paid €8.33 for Peruvian family sub yesterday.

Is there a step by step linked anywhere back in this thread?

I went through a few pages but couldn't find it, cheers.

Also, I have a friend who lives in Turkey. If I get her to pay for my account with her turkish bank card is that the path of least resistance?

This method using iTunes works perfectly: https://vpn-tools.com/youtube-cheaper/turkey?currency=euro

Just purchased a Youtube Premium sub via Reddit for 30 USD for the year. i.e. about 2.50 EUR per month. Works perfectly and I am in an Irish family.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 326 ✭✭whydoibother

how did you do that?!? Can you please send a link?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,582 ✭✭✭JTMan

Simply send a message to this guy ( https://www.reddit.com/u/xMaarrc/s/mcWGrBLejO ) and say you are in Ireland and want to join a YouTube family. You only pay after you are successfully linked to a family. The guy seems trustworthy given hundreds of posters having successfully joined a family after he sold them a slot.

My family was finally deported from Ghana today after a couple of months of exhausting all other avenues to stay.

Put on a flight to Turkey via Apple iTunes method. Turgame were the cheapest (compared against Eneba & CDKey) - giftcards codes took about 30 minutes to arrive.

Already had an existing Turkish sub via iTunes for Disneyplus, so setup time was minimal.

Was paying €2.80/m in Ghana, Turkey now €5.77/m (thanks to Apple's 30% commission), so cost has doubled, but hopefully this will be stable from now on.
