    Hey all,

Looking at booking a campsite in Europe. We have done France the last two years, Sylvamar near Bordeaux and the boys loved it. Slides and a great pool are a must.

We were trying to include a visit to a themepark at the end if possible. Cant find any suitable campsite near Paris to make Eurodisney an option though

for such young kids Altomincio in Italy may hit the spot. Its near lake garda so flying to Verona is handiest but Milan or Bergamo isnt all that far either. They are very setup for smaller kids and theres ZERO cars on site (you park off to to the side) so its safe for them

Gardaland theme park is nearby and like all theme parks a lot of the stuff is for older kids but theres also a smaller peppa pig world there which could be of interest, plus a lego water park (peppa is in the main park, lego requires a different ticket)

Theres other sites in that area including Bella Italia (savage location by the lake, but can be pricey) but Altomincio does seem to attract and cater for the younger kids more than others .

    Duinrell outside Amsterdam?

Or whichever one is closest to Portaventura?

La Grande Metairie in southern Brittany, run by Eurocamp.

Took my girls there several times when they were younger. Camp has loads to do for younger kids, and you've got the standing stones right nearby.

Have you looked at this one outside Paris? They do shuttles to Disney, or at least they used to.

l'Hippocampe just outside Argeles sur Mer.

It's a sister site to the bigger La Sirene campsite which is just across the road & whose facilities you can also use.

    Perpignan is the closest airport.

It's car free and has a lovely heated pool.

    I'd highly recommend it.

So we were ready to jump the gun and book Duinrell in Netherlands.....but it's very expensive. Near 2 grand for the week. Can get good camps in south west of France for 600 a week. Weather in Netherlands also a concern.

we stayed here two years ago, great camp site for our 9 and 10yr olds and a good base for Paris and Disneyland.

We broke the drive back to the ferry by staying for 2 nights in Hotel Du Normandie in Arromanches.. good base for d-day touring, and very close to Cherbourg for ferry home.

we ended up going with this. Fit in duinrell and go down to Eftling too. The Dutch summer weather has me concerned though…..as does not going to trusted France

    Enjoy, it's a great site.

We got a beautiful week of sunshine last summer. Really helped.

Thanks. Is it suitable for 3 chaps under 8? Im worrying the pool and slides may be a bit more suited to teenagers.

There are some scary rides for sure, but there's a good mix of entertainment for all ages.

We went there a number of years ago and it rained for most of the two weeks we were there😋the highlight for me was the one evening it was nice to do a BBQ a storm blew in out of nowhere and blew my lovely BBQ all over the deck…I was not happy🤨

That saying there is so much to do there, the pools are amazing, having access to all the rides in the park all the time is great, going up to the park late in the evening when the crowds are gone is fantastic and getting on rides without the lines and dispite the weather the kids loved it. They spent hours peddling around the place in the go karts you can hire.

6.1kWp south facing, South of Cork City

Just a comment on Dunreill - prices have gone through the roof but it's the indoor pool/slides cost & policy that has put me off going back

They are free if you book direct(even at that its a max of 2 hours I think) You need to pay if you go with eurocamps. I agree, its **** when you are paying a big price

La Rive near Biscarrosse would be a great site

Huge indoor pool water park for the younger kids

Lots of outdoor pools and slides for older boy

Unfortunately Ryanair seem to have stopped services to Bordeaux
