Flush handle not returning on it's own

Small thing, but I have a standard close coupled toilet with a flush handle. For years it's been fine, but recently it seems like the handle is depresses further than it used to when flushing it doesn't return to home on it's own. Is it something obvious that's worn and needs to be replaced?

There is a spring on the siphon unit which may have corroded or broken.
If you purchase a new siphon unit you may be able to swop the spring without much difficulty. Often times however the plastics are degraded such that replacing the complete unit is best.
