Shower tray “odd” size?

Hi All, we are picking out shower trays for our new build. We are going for slate trays in most showers but we are really struggling with one en-suite as the shower will be enclosed by walls on 3 sides so we really need the shower tray to span the distance across between the walls. The distance is just shy of 1100 so it has to be smaller, ideally 1050 so as not to leave too much to try make up on one side with a stepped tile.

I have been looking online and can’t seem to find any shower trays (slate or otherwise) in in odd sizes, it’s either 1000mm (which is too small) or 1100 which won’t fit. Are shower trays on 50mm sizing a thing and would anyone have advise on where to look?

Slate trays can be trimmed with a diamond disc. Depending on the type, you should be able to trim 100-200mm from your tray, so a trimmed down 1100mm tray should work.

Just overboard both sides with tile backer board, which you can seal up with tape etc.

This^^. We were in the same situation and got a 100cm tray trimmed down to 95cm.

Thanks all, I like the suggestion of cutting the tray to suit - did this need to be done by someone specialised?

Mine was just done by the guy who did my en-suite for me. I should add that, AFAIK, none of these "slate" trays are actual slate, but a mix of resin and powdered stone so are relatively easy to cut. Obviously you need to be careful and ensure a nice straight cut, but any tiny imperfections will be covered by the tiles on that side anyway.
