    Love the Edit Nullzero. 🤣

To clarify my "preposterous claim" about your post being "conspiratorial". The reason i posted such a claim is that your post seems to meet the dictionary definition for that word.

You are referring to an undefined group of people ("the most morally bankrupt people") who are carrying out undefined actions ("They see the asylum crisis and see an opportunity to make money.").

Undefined shady people carrying out undefined shady actions.

Seems to me a "conspiratorial" in nature post!

Do we still have visa free travel from Jordan?

Bashar came to Ireland five months ago because he found life “very hard” in his native Jordan and claims that he is at risk of domestic violence if he returns. “My friend told me, ‘Come to Ireland, it’s a very good life here, safety is good’ https://www.newstalk.com/news/aslyum-seekers-sleeping-on-streets-instead-of-very-dirty-state-accommodation-2120858

I think you misread what they posted...

    Screenshot_2025-01-03-12-28-17-400_com.android.chrome~2.png

"In the eyes of the far left THESE business owners" was what was written and not "far left business owners".

Unscrupulous business owners who have no morals.

An example would be a hotel owner in a tourist town who takes money from the government to house IPA's exclusively and by doing so causes a cascade effect on other businesses that rely on tourists having a place to stay in the area.

Everyone else goes out of business but they're making big bucks and couldn't care less about how it hurts other people.

It isn't some shadowy cabal, just rich a55holes, you know the type of capitalists the left are supposed to take issue with.

Easy mistake to make in the heat of debate.

    Kudos for acknowledging it.

Always amazed how clean and well turned out these homeless guys. Their clothes and shoes are spotless. Don't look like any down on luck Irish I've come across.

Imagine hating the left and often posting that you consider anything left of the right to be the far left but now you are decrying the left for not being left enough for your liking.

    🤣

It's amazing isn't it, I like the "Palestinian" angle he put in there,

If life being a bit hard is a legitimate reason to claim asylum we are going to be over run.

Ah but sure they're not breaking any laws what's the problem.

Not to mention escaping climate change, escaping gay discrimination, gang warfare and of course just looking for a better life. Apparently we have no choice but to take in anyone who arrives into this small country claiming asylum has to be housed and even if refused asylum can just stay, tiny number of deportations. We're fcuked going forward looking at the annual increase.

A study was published last month "The Long-Term Fiscal Impact of Immigrants in the Netherland, Differentiated by Motive, Source Region and Generation".

    Link: https://www.iza.org/publications/dp/17569/the-long-term-fiscal-impact-of-immigrants-in-the-netherlands-differentiated-by-motive-source-region-and-generation

It contains a couple maps that show life time economic contribution of immigrants by geographic region.
    This is First Generation immigrants:
    https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GgUobuEXgAAe24a?format=jpg&name=large

Immigrants from Europe, North America, Australia and S.Africa all contributing.
Immigrants from other places, not so much.
And, those from most of Africa are all a net burden.

South Africa looks like an anomaly, but being that S.Africa was their colony, I'd say that NL get the lions share of the educated white migrants from there.

There's another map that shows the economic contribution of Second Generation immigrants:
    https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GgUkpOrWQAAXrdB?format=jpg&name=medium

It just demonstrates that we should be much more selective on where immigrants come from.

A lot of them have probably copped on to he fact that an irish passport is like a golden ticket, access to Europe and the UK with the CTA.

And are they going to work and contribute or just do bity jobs for cash like nail bars and delivery drivers and further drain the tax system. Businesses closing left, right and centre and empty high street buildings due to high rates and these lads just want cash and all the freebies. Well I don’t buy from any business now unless they’ve a card machine and are legitimate business.

Well South Africa has a minority but very large educated society which would be up to western standards so depending who emigrated from there they'd integrate in very well.

Very revealing study, anyone with critical thought can see the madness needs to stop. The door should be shut before the EU falls apart.

But are you " morally bankrupt" as well ?

It appears anyone who lets out a residence now to IPAS is in that category according to a post above .

By some people’s definition I probably am morally bankrupt. Well, I try to have fun you see.

Well thats just a lie, plenty of high profile people have said exactly that.

ie when asked during the European Elections Dublin MEP debate on June 4th on RTE the SocDem then candidate (and now sitting TD) Sinead Gibney said literally that - that there should be no limitation whatsoever on the numbers Ireland takes in every year, that we should accept everyone who arrives here.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,841 ✭✭✭✭Geuze

I recall something else Sinead Gibney said on TV during the European election campaign:

" the reason AS don't have travel documents is that they are in such a rush to leave, they don't have time to find the documents"

What's worse is nobody challenged her on this obvious falsehood.

Nobody had the cop-on to point out that they have the documents boarding the aircraft!!

I don't blame her, I blame the eejits who vote for her - soft in the head.

No. She said we must assess everyone who arrives claiming asylum. Which is correct as per the law.

Please find me an example and I’ll call them a clueless numpty with you.

Please don’t call me a liar.

All of the 90% are bogus, as if they were genuinely fleeing persecution (hint: they aren't, they are actually economic migrants), then they would claim asylum in the UK.

    image.png

Somebody will no doubt reply stating that an AS is under no obligation to claim asylum in the first country.

    But why wouldn't they?

The message that Roderic's free gaffs for all scheme hasn't gotten off to a flier hasn't reached our incoming claimants I'm guessing.

The border with the north is an open goal for people looking to game the system.

We continue to have terrible outcomes for everyone while we wrestle with the morality of saying no to and removing chancers from the country.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,477 ✭✭✭Blut2

I literally gave you an exact, dated, example with a named high profile person. And specific show, and the network it was broadcast on. You can go look it up yourself.

You said "nobody is saying this" and I gave you the first example that came to mind, of someone high profile who said exactly this on national TV. So you were lying, or incorrect.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,477 ✭✭✭Blut2

No. She was very clearly asked "do you think there should be any limit on the numbers we accept of asylum seekers per year, as the number is increasing rapidly" and she said "No".

She went on to clarify that she was in favour of no numerical cap on the numbers of asylum seekers arriving ever being put in place.

Its absolutely bonkers stuff - when climate change makes €1bn+ people move in the next few decades she'd apparently have us taking in millions of people.

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 23,078 Mod ✭✭✭✭Brian?

“Do my own research to prove your point”? No chance.

I googled “Sinead Gibney immigration”. There were a load of links where she said nothing of the sort and a nice Gript link implying that’s what she said. It’s pretty clear where you get your news.

"do your own research" would apply if all I said was a vague "Sinead Gibney said this".

I told you exactly where, and exactly when, and exactly who broadcast her saying this.

If you don't watch very high profile national political debates, and are apparently unable to look them up online, thats on you.

And it would suggest you're not particularly knowledgeable on this issue, so shouldn't be posting your opinions as facts.
