    We want a Palestinian state.

    That will work for sure.

    party capable of governing Palestine

There's one already running the show and they do remarkable job.. Certainly having Palestinians as a number one priority.

    Because you posted this:

Edit: was gonna post a bit longer speech, but what's the point. Gazans are suffering on behalf of few..

So, are you OK with innocent Palestinian civilians suffering "on behalf of a few"?

You've probably misunderstood what I meant by that, or just deliberately trying to pursue the point of yours, whatever that is.

Seems Israelis are getting more vocal by the day and their anger is rising. No wonder Netanyahu and his accomplices in War Crimes want to shut down their own Press - it would be terrible if the world got to know their dirty little secrets.

Also in the news, confirmation from Israelis themselves that Israel has abandoned the hostages. They don't care about them or their families. And the Palestinian starvation continues though some are simply crushed to death in the rush for food.

Once again, Smotrich and Ben-Gvir show their true colours - starve all those in Northern Gaza then move in their settler mates. Whatever Netanyahu says or does, always watch Smotrich and Gvir - they are unfiltered and tell the truth of what they want. I'd say the ICC prosecutor is also watching them.

    Haaretz:

The relatives of Israeli hostages held in Gaza who protest outside the defense establishment headquarters in Tel Aviv every Saturday called for a deal that would end the war and release the hostages. In a statement, Einav Zangauker, the mother of hostage Matan, attacked Netanyahu and his allies for "rushing to pave roads and establish settlements right above the hostages' heads as they rot in the tunnels."

Israeli strikes killed at least 40 Palestinians overnight and on Friday, many of them in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, local medics told Reuters. Two children and a 50-year-old woman were taken to the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah in central Gaza, where a doctor confirmed that they died from suffocation due to a crush when Palestinians crowded a bakery to to get bread, medical officials told AP

"Netanyahu is a willing hostage of Smotrich and National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir. In the dilemma between rescuing the hostages and his coalition's survival, he has already decided what he wants to do: preserve the occupation in Gaza. His extremist allies believe that the anticipated failure of the defense establishment's plans to distribute humanitarian aid to northern Gaza will pave the way for expelling the civilian population from that area, restoring a military regime there and reestablishing settlements" – Amos Harel

Which is why I asked you a question - its not a gotcha - just a simple question.

So now I'm assuming that you're not OK with Palestinians civilians being ethnically cleansed because of the actions of Hamas.

Big moral win for the zionists. One of the latest OAPs to meet his death at the business end of a tank shell in Gaza was the last orthopedic surgeon left there. He had come out of retirement to try to help his people.

He'd definitely be a target of the murderous Zionists.

Remember when the Palestinians were told to head south to Rafah because it was safe zone ?

At least that debunks the idea that the terrorist state was 'targeting Hamas'. They clearly fired thousands of missiles at every urban area with the idea of levelling the place and making it uninhabitable.

Another legitimate militant target taken out

Imagine having the temerity to fundraise for, and then operate, a soup kitchen which was keeping starving kids alive

And in a scene reminiscent of the Mariupol theatre bombing, he had started a school for kids, writing signs on the roof saying it was a school and asking it not to be bombed……It was of course bombed.

I see the Palestinian Authority have decided to ban Al Jazeera as they consider that they are just a mouthpiece for Hamas

Quote: “The committee stated that the decision was made due to Al Jazeera's repeated violations of Palestinian laws and regulations. Authorities accused the network of broadcasting inciteful content, spreading misinformation, and interfering in internal Palestinian affairs, which they claimed stirred division and instability.”

Interesting, as the media here, and everyone else from our politicians to the Catholic church (as shown in the previous post statement) trot out the exactly same line / propaganda as Al Jazeera, and take everything Al Jazeera say as gospel and repeat it.

Interesting that your statement provides no evidence whatsoever of anyone in Ireland parroting Al Jazeera.

Hopefully, you will post said evidence.

"One former soldier" you say. Israel has conscripts, one former soldier could choose to say anything. However, we do know:

Hamas claimed it fired 5,000 rockets in a 20-minute initial barrage, sending projectiles up to 80 kilometres into Israeli territory. Israel's military said 2,500 rockets were fired.

“The Hamas fighters were battle-hardened and knew the topography of the area,” said FRANCE 24's specialist in jihadist movements, Wassim Nasr, in the aftermath of the events.

Drones armed with explosives were used to neutralise the Israeli watchtowers topped with machine guns near the Gaza border.

Israeli military equipment positioned close to the border, including armoured vehicles, was also targeted. So were telecommunications infrastructure, including a pylon destroyed near the Be’eri kibbutz.

The aim was to quickly disable Israeli military communications and cameras near Gaza.

Explosives were used to create dozens of breaches in the security fences. Where they couldn't break through to Israel, Hamas fighters fired rockets from positions a few hundred metres from the border.

The surprise attack was well-coordinated and rapidly executed.

Commandos on motorbikes and pick-up trucks quickly infiltrated Israeli territory, before bulldozers widened the gaps in the fence to allow larger vehicles to pass through.

Hamas also used motorboats to reach Israel by sea and motorized paragliders to infiltrate by air.

Clashes erupted at several points along the Gaza security barrier, notably at the Erez border crossing in the north of the Gaza Strip.

Israeli soldiers were overwhelmed and some were captured as hundreds of vehicles from Gaza crossed the border to continue the assault.

Some 1,200 Hamas fighters – 2,900, according to Israel – were involved in the operation that day. The commandos had precise, designated objectives – a “battle plan”, as Israeli intelligence later called it.

The targets were both military and civilian. Most of the targets were hit in under 30 minutes.

The simultaneous attacks caught the Israeli security apparatus off guard. For several hours, civilians and soldiers were left to fend for themselves.

Between 6.30am and 8.30am, Hamas targeted several Israeli military bases.

The attacks spread from north to south, along the border between the Gaza Strip and Israel. Hamas hit Erez, Zikim, Nahal Oz, Sufa, Re'im and two bases near Be’eri and Kerem Shalom. At 10am, the Israeli army acknowledged that armed Palestinians had entered at least three military sites.

Fierce fighting ensued. The bases are attacked with grenades, rocket launchers and automatic weapons, as numerous Hamas propaganda images later showed. In some instances, Israeli soldiers were roused from their sleep by the fighting.

Interesting that you choose to attack the messenger not the message.

Is this an admission that you agree that Al Jazeera are Hamas proxies?

I'm afraid the only proxy here is the relationship between the PA and Israel.

Quite telling that you dismiss the opinions of the Palestinian Authority , the fatah-controlled government body that exercises partial civil control over the Palestinian enclaves in the Israeli-occupied West Bank.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,787 ✭✭✭dmcdona

I attacked no-one - simply asked for a source or evidence for a claim that was made.

"A testing ground for technological warfare. We saw a number of drones dropping bombs and then off the back of those drones they've got quadcopters that come down and shoot anything that's left moving. We had a number of children telling us they would just have to lay there after an explosion so that they wouldn't get shot"

Be under no allusions about what's happening over there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,623 ✭✭✭Francis McM

At least the Palestinian Authority, the Palestinian body that exercises partial civil control over the Palestinian enclaves in the Israeli-occupied West Bank is not like Hamas and does not deliberately kill over a thousand innocent people, rape hundreds, put babies in to ovens on front of their mothers, kidnap hundreds, drag more behind motorbikes back to Gaza in front of cheering crowds there etc.

Of course you would prefer Hamas. Ever strike you they were corrupted by Iran?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,327 ✭✭✭✭Donald Trump

Isn't it mad the power of hasbara to the people who so so want to believe it

Even when it is debunked ("babies in ovens" lie), it can still be brought up as some kind of justification for blowing starving and helpless women and kids to bits with high-tech long distance weaponry.

How do we get around such brainwashing of (presumably gullible or at least susceptible to misinformation) people

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,623 ✭✭✭Francis McM

The Palestinian Authority have a better idea of what is going on in Palestine than you, and yet you reject their opinions in favour of a terror group, Hamas.

It does no one's case any good if sides start lying about atrocities. Haaretz has researched these dubious claims and debunked them. if posters are posting wild stories from just after the attack they are invariably going to to be spreading misinformation and damage their own credibility.
