Reciprocation of a US amateur Licence in Ireland

    Hi, can anyone tell me if i can reciprocate a US general amateur radio licence in Ireland either temporary or permanent?

    You can use your US call with a visitor call EI/WA2### etc Likewise when I visit another country i would use (Belgium) ON/EI6JOB

    If you needed an irish call you would have to sit the HAREC exam in Ireland (easier then the Extra in USA)

    Hi John, thanks very much for your reply. I may go and do the HAREC exam i think. In the mean time do i have to apply to register as a visitor to be legal on the air in Ireland using the prefix as you mentioned or just go on the air using the prefix without registering etc, hope that makes sense.
