I thought it came with adjustable shocks?

It does but there's lowering springs available too from polestar. Due a service in a couple of months and was toying with the idea- think it looks better a little lower. Was curious how people found the ride afterwards.

Not a terribly expensive option. I think on balance I'd prefer the ground clearance. Came out of a steep downhill entrance yesterday and the front skirt brushed the road. 20mm lower and that would have been a tad crunchier.

I think I'll be ok with the slight drop. Had a few yokes on the ground and never really much of an issue. The polestar is high enough anyway. Only worry is ride quality afterwards.

Would love if you could get the performance brakes on the standard version. I know you'd not need them, but I love the look of big calipers.

I reckon you could probably fit them to a standard version if you found a used set in a breakers as long as you had the bigger wheels

Yeah your right wasn't thinking about them, would be cheaper to just buy a performance model and get all the horses and all wheel drive. Saw a dark grey bst out in Sandyford yesterday, savage looking yoke

So, for me at least, it really seems to be down to where I press on the brake. Centre puts the symbol on every time, edges do not, or at least only a small % of the time.

I like. Any chance you get them and report back? Be a guinea pig for the team 😀

So I looked for it the other day, pressing the centre of the pedal and lo and behold, there it was. And now that I have seen it, I know I've seen it before. Because it's in the same position as the parking brake light, I just ignored it. 🤣

But here's the thing. I tested just braking without the indicator light on and it still holds. Even did it on a steep hill last night and it holds. So I'm thinking the light is a bit redundant.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 251 ✭✭pad406

The question is though, when the light is not on, is it holding on the regen or the friction brakes? I'm happy enough that the car isn't going anywhere, was more thinking of if someone rear-ended me 🙄.

Think it has some kind of anti rear end collision system

So, had my baby for just over 2 weeks now.

    Loving:

    • Build quality, everything feels so rock solid and well put together
    • Android automotive, slick, reactive and accurate on voice control
    • Cabin pre-conditioning, I know it's not just Polestar, but it's fab
    • Immense power, ridiculous that something so big and heavy moves so fast
    • The throttle tuning is fantastic, OPD brilliant and the brakes, yup they really work as good as they look
    • Boot kick opener, who knew it could be so handy
    • Headlights, even though not the Pixel ones, are really good
    • Looks. To my eye, it's a handsome beast
    • I really like the interior. Not a fan of the minimalist Tesla approach.
    • The maps in the driver console is a great idea.
    • Generally it's a car that does nearly everything really, really well, without excelling. But as a balance, I love it.

    Not so great:

    • Everyone knows the cupholder situation! There are certain things that I wonder how the designer sat back when done, put their hands behind their head, and thought "Now that's a job well done". Yes, Fiat Multipla designer, I mean you too.
    • The App. Works ok, but again, seriously people, think about how it will be used. Why can't I set the cabin temp for preconditioning? Just touching off the charge tile sets it to 100% (the not recommended one) as I have it set at 90%, should be on the inside menu.
    • Piano black on the centre console, come on guys
    • Rear visibility, it's pretty shocking to be fair. I knew that and I can live with it. 360 camera does help, the weak reversing light doesn't

Had 2 slight niggles with the infotainment system. Once it just seemed to randomly reboot, didn't cause any issue, just did it as I was driving home. Then one other day I had no sound, even from the indicators, didn't realise they went through the speakers. Rebooted it and all ok.

I wrapped the centre console after the first week, highly recommend it. Bought 3 different "samples" from here:

Each sheet is big enough to cover the centre console. As for the cup holder I didn't mind it until the kids got me a new taller travel cup 🤦‍♂️

Good idea, thanks. How did you find taking off the console? Seen a few videos about, it doesn't 'seem' too bad.

It's pretty easy. The youtube guides are dead on. If you have the plus pack (I don't) just be aware of the plug for the wireless charger

After trying a wrap I'd be inclined to go with one of the MY25 trim pieces instead. They're just a better finish. About 90 quid for the one below, I think 170 for the wood variants which is admittedly saucy.

Looks well, which one is it? Where did you get it from? I'm getting loads of hits from the US on google but nothing more local.

BTW, did you get that lowering kit, we're all waiting for you to report back 😁

Ordered from the local Volvo dealer.

Haven't done it, won't be doing it until it's in for a service either way.

polestar 2 all the way. You’ll have something fairly unique on the road with a bit of character and won’t be putting money in the pocket of that clown

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,449 ✭✭✭MojoMaker

That seems really good @taegukgi - will you share where you're getting that offer because we can't see anything like it online for a 251 reg with those additional options?

Went to go on the Polestar website and have a look at some details about the 2 as I'm narrowing down to a list of 2-3 EVs to look at buying in the new year:

No details on finance rates, and all the links to details on finance for the various Polestar 2 models generates a website error.
You can't configure a Polestar 2, it just directs you to visit the physical Polestar showroom.

There's not even a PDF brochure available

There are delivery mileage MY2025 models available (242 reg) but they don't offer finance on them.

Meanwhile the UK Polestar website has the configurator, full finance details, and a PDF brochure of MY2025.

    Yeah, it's disappointing.

Perhaps they are not letting any new self configured ones come to Ireland until they get rid of the stock? No idea just speculating

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 251 ✭✭pad406

Could be a cashflow problem either, need to get rid of existing stock, too much tied up in them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,506 ✭✭✭Nigzcurran

Polestar don't offer financing, it's done through finance Ireland if I remember correctly

I was in their yard a few weeks ago. Lots of P2's unsold. A lot of FWD older models.

Unless they adopt more P2 price cuts I don't see demand growing much.

Maybe it's just me but I don't see anything that makes the P2 a decent value proposition.

Overall Warranty is mediocre. Drivers cockpit is rather poorly designed and dimensioned, cup holder under armrest, big central tunnel impacting driver knee room. Their optional packs are crazy expensive.

I'd rather buy a top spec ID.3 but maybe that's just me.
