Since my route to Lidl is 20km, at least three places. 😁

Im just about to leave Kerry and drive 300kms home to Dublin so I'm pretty sure I could find somewhere along the route

have one 18 months now and don’t really use all that extra power that much. Overtaking sometimes to get out and back in fast, and also if someone’s up my arse on a dual carriageway or motorway I’ll put the foot down accelerate away while they prob have a “what the **** is that” moment

Worth noting that the full 476bhp is only available above 70% charge. After that it's a slope down to 408bhp at 40% charge.

I presume you're all prepared, but just in case…

Get the Polestar app installed on your phone and have your Polestar ID setup.

Have your Google password to hand (also the one for your Polestar ID).

The handover is very well run and covers everything. Expect half an hour to three quarters depending on your familiarity with the car.

    Just one more sleep. 😎

Yes, all ready except for the small matter of insurance 🙄Don't mention the war with my broker (only been using them for 25+ years). Not a price issue, they just seem to have rightly sc***ed up something historically……..

Just got the car today. I was expecting it to lock after I parked up and left it but it didn't. Is that a feature that needs to be enabled or just not a feature? Not concerned if it's not, but for some reason I thought it would 🤔.

You need to lock it by touching any of the door handles

Grand, probably better for me, I'd end up leaving the phone inside and it wouldn't lock though I thought it had 🙄

    Loving it so far

Yeah, it's touch locked by the grooves in any of the door handles. Phone as key can be a bit hit and miss. It's getting better and supposedly more improvements coming in the next software release. When I say hit and miss, sometimes touch won't lock or unlock the doors and you have to try again or use the app. Also doesn't seem to work with the boot kick or boot close and lock systems. It's only a minor inconvenience, I've never been unable to drive and use the car with only my phone.

Things I find really useful in no particular order:

The boot divider is a real boon. Stops stuff sliding around or shopping bags emptying themselves.
The space under the boot floor is also really useful for storing heavier stuff that might roll around otherwise. Anything from bottles of wine to gas cylinders. The prop for the boot floor is another really useful accessory.
Google maps. Being able to look up a destination on your phone, choose a route and send to the car. Game changer.
Google maps again. The estimated SoC on arrival at destination and return is very accurate. Never been more than 1 or 2% out, usually on the pessimistic side.
Phone as key. You're never getting into your car without a key.
Charge port lock. This isn't something every EV has. And it's so useful. Stops the charge regardless of what's plugged in, no faffing about with apps. And prevents somebody nicking your cable or your charge point when you're not there.
Kick boot opening. Didn't think this would be useful, but now I wonder how I lived without it.
Boot close and lock. Just so useful.

Those are just off the top of my head.

    So…

Just for a bit of fun, what are people calling their Polestar 2 in the app?

    I went with

    WhatsApp Image 2024-11-22 at 23.54.25_133de410.jpg

It was the North Star when the pyramids were being built and it will be again in 20,346, hoping to see it happen 🤣

It’s for that reason I called mine Beko. It’s white too!

So, still in the learning mode 😀

Was curious on how OPD worked as regards the brakes being on, or not, when I come to a halt at traffic lights for example. Found this in the manual:

    image.png

But it doesn't seem to work, never see that symbol anywhere. Am I missing something?

I use opd on the first setting, auto hold works superbly but I never see a h symbol on the dash

Likewise. On both. Tried the standard setting for OPD for a while, but decided it was too aggressive.

You can feel the hold come on, even on the flat. Just a very light braking feeling.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 252 ✭✭pad406

well. It came on. Once. Just as I was leaving work I tried on the car park and on it came. But never again on the rest of the drive home. Strange.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,704 ✭✭✭CMOTDibbler

"it" being the symbol on the dash or the brakes? Because if it's the brakes, it's not that obvious. Usually a couple of seconds after you stop. Never seen the symbol.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,086 ✭✭✭GustavoFring

When you're not using one pedal and you're coming to a gentle stop as soon as you are stopped press the pedal a little further and it will come on. You need to depress the pedal a bit while at a standstill for it to come on with one pedal driving and show the symbol.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 252 ✭✭pad406

    "it" being the symbol.

That's what I'm doing, worked as I was leaving work in the car park and never again on the rest of the trip. Will check when starting off again in the morning

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 252 ✭✭pad406

So, this morning, worked first time, as in light came on, just after starting the car, then no joy for a while. tried some various things, pressing the pedal twice, long press, and it was intermittent. Then I noticed the more central my foot was on the brake pedal, the more it worked (I'm inclined to use the right side of the pedal for light braking so was doing that mostly as I was already stopped). Will experiment some more.

Works everytime I try it. Just dab the pedal and (H) on display. Never really use it though.

Anyone here installed the lowering springs to a performance model?
