If they're both out of the squad entirely then it's either injury or disciplinary.

Garnacho has supposedly been behind a number of leaks over the last few months, might be getting a boot in the rear end from Amorim.

Neither are injured and he seems to be implying they didnt prepare well i guess

Ruben Amorim to Sky on why Rashford/Garnacho not involved. "I pay attention to everything, the way you eat, the way you put your clothes to go to a game. Everything. I make my evaluation and then I decide….

There is a communication after the last training. They are alright. They had training this morning and I was there. They trained really well.”

    from amorim:

"Selection. We try to evaluate everything: training, performance, game performance, engagement with the team-mates, pushing the team-mates up. Everything is on the line when we analyse and try to choose the players, so that is my selection. Simple.

"I don't want to send a message. It's simply an evaluation, and they know it. The players are really, really smart. Everybody understands my decision. I have to choose. It's just simple selection.

"The context is difficult. We have to win games and we have a difficult situation. I pay attention to everything, the way you eat, the way you put on your clothes to go the game. Everything. I make my evaluation and then I have to decide. I have a lot of players to choose."

On how the news was broken to Rashford and Garnacho: "It's the same all the time. There's a communication after the last training which goes to the WhatsApp. They receive the information.

"But they are alright. They had training this morning. I was there. Everything was OK. They trained really well."

I like this attitude. Hopefully it's carried forward regardless of the immediate cost to results.

Players have to toe the line. Buy into the new reality. Or leave. And I don't care who they are. This will bring long term success.

So he's just not dropping the players you want dropped, which shows he's not willing to drop players or too scared to.

Garnacho and Rashford just having a rest.

    Tricky times for Amorim.

Some here want players dropped because its perceived they are not playing well but he has made the choice to drop players who he perceives to not be carrying on as professionally as he wants and he can’t drop them all.

city gone a bit more attacking today.

Team to play Man Utd: Ederson, Dias, Walker, Gvardiol, Bernardo, Nunes, De Bruyne, Gundogan, Foden, Doku, Haaland.

Subs: Ortega, Stones, Kovacic, Grealish, Savinho, Simpson-Pusey, Mubama, O'Reilly, McAtee.

It certainly seems like the polar opposite of ten haggs approach where if he thought players could get him a win they would start regardless mostly. Not having either in the squad certainly takes away a counter attacking weapon via city but if they aren't training up to standards so be it.

We're massive underdogs regardless of whether Rashford and Garnacho feature.

There's more to be gained from letting them and everyone else in the squad know who's boss than three points against City, which was never a likely outcome to begin with.

You'd fancy City to make a statement with a big win today and go on a run pulling themselves up the table in the process.

We've got too many mistakes in us to be seeking anything beyond a few green shoots of optimism in this game, I'd fancy us to take a pasting today. Better days will come in time but today will likely be a nasty one unfortunately.

Sounds like it because of the leaks reading between the lines of what Ruben said.

    Good statement from Amorin imo

Love that front line with Amad, Mount and Rasmus

Sounds like it could be many things to many people, depending on what point they want to run with

Delighted to see a manager having conviction and not picking players based on their name value. If they aren't training or behaving properly then they don't deserve to play for Utd. It's that simple. Standards matter. That video of Rashford repeatedly dropping the gloves when it was easier to hand it to the coach spoke volumes of his character and how he perceives his importance above others

He's become a bad egg, better to get the rot out. Similar to when Pogba was poisoning the dressing room, best to get rid.

It well could be for sure but look city aren't at there best and it certainly seems if the players are up for it we could at least out fight them something which we haven't seen from this team in two years. If their quality gets is so be it but I do hope we see a high energy performance at least.

Im the same I wouldn't be too worried about the result and hopefully we don't get mistakes in the build up today in a big game, we will certainly have them as the players learn to take more risks at the back just not today hopefully

I think we win today, Razzmatazz and Amadonna with the goals either side of HT. Up the fuckin reds.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,577 ✭✭✭Tandey

Absolutely, lots of reasons for Rashford to be left out.

I'd love to feel the same. I think we'll lose by at least two goals

Sheikh Khaldoun and Sir Jim having the chats.

The Sheikhs children played in the league I ran and he'd be there on the sideline like any other parent. Wild to see him blasted across sky sports
