The idea of "Rashford playing well not affecting the outcome" would say a lot more about Rashford than it would about United or about anything else, if he were actually to think that. That mentality shouldn't exist in any top player.

If Rashford plays well he will get praised, if Rashford plays well then by definition the team will also improve, if he plays well he can drag other players along with him.

A player deciding there is no point, that it won't make a difference? That player simply doesn't have character for a top club.

City will be delighted to have us on Sunday. Nothing like a game against us for them to kick start their season.

Do you have anything to back up those numbers on Havertz and Jesus?

Sancho has 2 goals and 4 assists in the equivalent of less than 5 and a half games. He's played most games he's not been injured for and was excellent there at the weekend.

How did he do the next season? Just the 40 g/a?

Would certainly be interesting to see what we would do if we got a good bid for Rashford in january - would we take it without, likely, a possibility to reinvest in a player we want?

I think it would be a mistake to lose and not replace him, but similarly it would be a risk to keep him and not achieve the same value in the summer?

Also, no idea who on earth we would go for - interesting time for United as it is so hard to predict who are targets could be. Even if you say 'Replace Rashford', are we looking for a striker (no, imo), but are you looking for a winger? in inside forward? a 10?

If you sold him in January could you get Cunha from Wolves? I think he would be an EXCELLENT signing for that role. Such a good carrier and such quick feet.

There's a pile on Rashford every few weeks in here.

I'm big fan of his and I like that he's used his profile to help those less fortunate. He hasn't been playing well, I won't argue with that.

I will argue that he only receives fair criticism, that's just not true, there are undertones to his criticism a lot of the time. The criticism of him going to the basketball match all blinged up had undoubted undertones.

The Gary Neville stuff banging on about Portland and 12 hour flights was bizarre. Why he didn't fact check that he was actually in Portland (unless he was actually there, which hasn't been confirmed?) before banging on about it to a large audience I just don't know, very unprofessional.

There isn't one United player in the last 10 years who can objectively hold their head up as having been an exemplary professional, who got the most out of themselves. So maybe just maybe there's a collective issue here that is very difficult to overcome as an individual.

Marcus Rashford was one of the very few to overcome those collective issues to actually stand out as a talented individual for a number of years before becoming for want of a better word - shell-shocked.

Now, would he benefit from a move to another club maybe, I'm still willing to give him a proper chance under Amorim to find himself again, that is if given the opportunity by way of the collective actually being a help rather than a hindrance.

It will be interesting to see the team selection on Sunday. And in particular - will there be consequences for some of the awful performances and individual errors in the Forest game?

Fernandes, Onana and Martinez were particularly bad. We need to see the coach showing some ruthlessness and setting proper standards by dropping certain players. Our GK will probably be excused, he had a pretty solid season up to last Saturday…..but some of these players have been consistently poor for months now

Previous managers like ETH and Ole were slaughtered (quite rightly at times) for rewarding consistent under-performers by making them virtually un-droppable.

I'm really hoping we see a different approach from Amorim.

    Rashford starts,

Regardless of manager he always has been given ample opportunities to turn things around.

Ugarte is getting less game time than I thought he would under Amorim.

Maybe it's because he understands the system and it's those who don't who need the game time lol. Or maybe he's just resting him ahead of City.

Team to face Viktoria Plzen: Onana, Martinez, De Ligt, Mazraoui, Dalot, Malacia, Casemiro, Fernandes, Diallo, Rashford, Zirkzee.

Subs: Bayindir, Lindelof, Maguire, Mount, Hojlund, Eriksen, Yoro, Garnacho, Antony, Ugarte, Mainoo, Collyer.

1 start against bodo. and has come on in 1 game against arsenal.

I don't like Bruno in the deeper two in midfield, causes us defensive problems and doesn't get the best out of him.

Amad playing, I assume, in the 10 position is interesting. Unless its Mazraoui! or Dalot!

Bruno, again? I would have liked to see Mount start a game at some stage. That and the fact Bruno is playing some awful stuff lately, his mistake led to the second goal at the weekend.

And who knows how bad Dalot has to play to be dropped but it’s obviously a very low standard.

I think they sell if they can, regardless of replacements.

He isn't a striker and he isn't a fit for either of the wing back roles, which leaves the 2 positions behind the striker. For those roles there is Amad, Garnacho, Bruno and Mount, Zirkzee and Erikson if needed, even Antony and Mainoo if stuck.

The squad can survive his absence, so to me that means they take an offer if it comes.

Yes, very interesting, I shall consider it presently.

Not sure why we're going so strong, these are a league 1 outfit, surely makes sense to rest our main players ahead of the weekend.

I think Amorims thinking is not to take anythimg for granted with these players and try get the job done in 60minutes then rotate players.

He has not been shy of subbing off players so I don't think it's a major issue. Any players with fitness concerns seem to get rested

So as usual, asked to quantify a post and complete nonsense.

Which game did he play bad in? I would wager that you've not watched a second of him this season.

    ... Didn't quote post

So you were 2.5 million off Havertz's yearly salary then. But me not using Google is the issue?

Excited to see this team even if it's against bad opposition. Seems like it's pretty cold there so hopefully avoid injury.

I'd love to see some mad dog running this evening.

This is the kind of game these lads usually deem beneath themselves and stroll around to a lackluster loss or draw.

I think we'll see a Rashford goal tonight.
