Front door mat that wont get water logged

Hi folks,

Would have thought this would be simpler. Looking for a front door mat preferably in dark grey that doesnt have a backing on it. We have one already which had a rubber backing but when it rains it water logs and it nearly has to be hung up to dry out. I picked up a jml coir mat for the back door which is natural colour and it doesnt have a backing.. if there was something simillar in grey would be ideal.

Everything i see in woodies/amazon seems to come with rubber backing?

Is the mat in a matwell and perhaps its the matwell itself that is filling up?
Also, do you want the mat for cleaning or drying footwear?

This type wont really get "wet" as its plastic and so doesn't really hold water, but is pretty good at cleaning shoes.

However, since its plastic, it wont really dry wet footwear.

no its sitting on cobblelock driveway outside door.. i want something breathable as the water sits on it and underneat the matt never dries so its damp and perfect for growing moss/algae

ideally just to rub shoes on coming in.. not heaving muck like.. just dust/leaves etc..

Anything thats sitting and hence holding water on the surface is going to lead to damp and stuff growing. You might see some success by waterproofing the section underneath so that, while it stays wet, its not being absorbed into the substrate and if nothing else, will be easy to clean
