Reprising this recent thread which was based on terrestrial

….as now I can't tune in the satellite stations*

(have some hopefully better pics if needed)

Strangely I can get my satellite stations using the external BORK tuner that I have but when I use the same cable that goes into the back of that tuner and put it directly into the TV it will only prompt me to put in an antenna.

I actually have two separate dishes with two separate cables and run into the same problem with both.

(This is a Nordmende ARTX24RSM TV)

*(have successfully tuned in the Terrestrial stations using the terrestrial antenna and cable).

I had a problem with a 24 in panasonic and you have to pay special attention when setting it up, make sure it says universal lnb if you miss a step it seems to default to a unicable or diseq setup. Have you got the manual, look carefully at setup procedure. And you may have to try more than once. I cant find a manual online.

It is strange that there's no trace of a manual online. My only suggestions would be to see if you can do a factory reset and start again. Failing that, can you get any info about the software or hardware version in Setup? - that may help to identify it more.

I (the OP) do have a manual on the TV Itself.

I have managed to do a satellite scan now.

I had to select the type of connection (direct satellite ) and then had to choose the correct satellite (Astra2 I think)

I have got most of the channels in Free to Air that I know should be there but BBC 4 /CBeebies seems to be missing ,as well as the BBCRed Button and perhaps a few others .

    Also zillions of encrypted stations.

I am next going to try to do a manual scan to get those missing stations.

I wonder why they didn't show up?

Would the TV have an out of date memory of stations that have changed their "address" over the past while?

(maybe it was sitting in the shop a good time-it was sold cheap bc the remote was missing its cover I am told)

The pre installed satellite frequency list on satellite receivers will go out of date fairly quickly as transponders come and go.

Check the pre stored tuning parameters against the active transponder list on the website below

Thanks I used the sticky at the top of this satellite forum and I seem to have got some of the missing stations now.

I will checkout your link for future reference also since ,of late the frequencies seem to have short life spans.

The sticky is very good, but the October timing was a bit unfortunate. A lot of channels moved very soon after it was created. I think those changes are now complete, and I'm sure it will be updated. The source was mainly RXTV, and you can see their own up to date information here. Click on the red BBC etc to find the current tuning details.
