My parents had their fibre line cut by workmen on their lane a couple days ago. They said they'd be back next week to fix but in the mean time I assumed the Always Connected 4g dongle would kick in. The Fibre light is red on the fibre ONT on the wall but the blue light on the usb dongle is always flashing and not providing any internet connection for the wifi network. According to this:

The blue light should be solid when it activates. Its flashing no matter what I try. I've tried resetting everything, unplugging and putting dongle back into gigabox router, unplugging the fibre ethernet cable from gigabox, sim card is definitely inserted correctly in dongle. Is there a simple solution to get it to activate or should I just contact Customer Support 1907?

Contact customer support, try moving it to a location with a better signal.

    Hi,

Did you ever get this sorted? I have the exact same issue you described.

    Thanks

Can you try some if the other usb ports, I know some give restricted permissions.

I connected it to the usb port on the back and the one on the side with the removable cover. Same issue. Interestingly enough when I connected the dongle to a PC I can access the Internet but very slow speeds, like 2~3mb download. So maybe poor mobile data reception could be the cause the hub isn't working with the dongle?

I tried moving the router to the window but never got the dongle to work.

The guys who cut the line did indeed come back to fix it a few days later. Until then I set up hotspots with both my parents mobile phone data to connect to their laptop and PC.

Your replies have reminded me to cancel the Always Connected dongle and just use the hotspots. I think there's a monthly charge for it.
