my daughter was caught for €3k and I used to work in DK a while back and know Darragh and the guys well so I wouldn’t hold out much hope. Staff were all shafted allegedly.

if your door is Palladio then it was bought through profile developments in Limerick. PVC windows and Doors were more than likely bought from either Superseal or frames direct up the North depending on credit. AluClad wins/doors from Roda in Lithuania and Alumium wins/doors/sliders etc from Doleta in Poland. Good luck guys and hope you all get sorted.

Is this the real Rachel Flood (company secretary)? If so, we would love some communication from either you or Darragh about the status of the company and your customers orders. Thank you.

Hi Rachel, Thanks for that. Front or back of the list makes no difference I'd say. Exactly what did you expect. The situation is intolerable and people here have been hit by a lot more than me and as I am still in the business I will get my daughter sorted myself.

Your post is a disgrace by the way and you ought to be ashamed of yourself!

I wouldn't believe anyone here claiming to be from the company and if you're contacting that Lauren Palmer one up there be very careful in what infomration you give them. You don't know who it really is.

Was directed here by a post on Facebook about this crowd. My daughter is down a 2k deposit because of these guys. No contact from company whatsoever.

Thanks for starting this thread. I was lucky in the sense that most of my order got delivered (albeit 6 weeks behind schedule which severely interrupted my build), but I'd ordered a front door which just never arrived. It was a Palladio and I tried calling Profile Developments but they weren't really able to tell me much. I'm wondering if anyone else had more look tracking down their door?

A horrible situation to be in and my sympathies to everyone who has been left badly out of pocket and / or with major renovation issues.

Just so you all know the staff have been left in the worst possible position ever. They have many customers reaching out to them and just like use they don't have the answers either. They have been left without pay- without answers and don't know how they will make ends meet tomorrow or the next few weeks. Family and children to provide for over the Christmas period-I have friends that worked for them and my heart is breaking for them also. So please remember the staff are in the same position as all of you. It's just horrible!

Hi, I am in the same boat as your sister with Ecosolutions. Ordered windows, they contacted me 2 weeks ago to fully pay for the order as the installation is set for next week. I assume this is not happenning anymore. They did this knowing company is going bust, disgrace. I have paid through humm so Im prob in deep sh..

There is a creditors meeting on the 17th of Dec.

would anyone have a picture that was on their door, I’m outside the shop and it’s gone, I believe there was a what’s app group to join? Was scheduled to have my doors fitted next week!

    Hi all.

I am now in the same situation as most here. I paid half a deposit 7K back in August for a full house of windows and a front and back door. At the time the sales staff were great and have no complaints there. I understand this is a fault from the top and they would have not known this was going on.

It is only since looking at their latest reviews on google (which were great till a few months ago) that I am seeing all of these people with the same problems.

    Deposit paid - August 15th.

    Installation approx - Early November

Delay - Mid November (Told January)

Now - Nothing when I try to call, no response from the installations manager on this topic, new installation dates etc.

I see others have only been putting down deposits recently which is unacceptable if these issues were going back months. I did get in contact with an installations manager who said there were delays at the manufacturers though mentioned nothing about a fire. The unfortunate thing was that there was no contact up till then. I had to reach out to ask where they were, what was the date. Nothing beforehand.

Hi all - similar situation here. Was promised a 8 week turnaround and asked to pay final amount to book in installation date. Needless to say that and 5 subsequent dates came and went. They agreed to termination of agreement and a full refund which never arrived. Owed over 11k.

I have done the following and would suggest as many others do so as well. The director who was obviously trading with mounting debts cannot be allowed to walk away from this after effectively defrauding people of thousands of euro.

    1. Report the matter to your bank as the transfers being fraudulent or attempt charge back if paid by card

    2. Report the matter to the Gardai as being fraud

    3. Report the company and its Director -snip- to the Office of the Director of Corporate Enforcement for breaching company law under the Companies Act 2014. They appear to have continued trading and taking customer deposits knowing full well that debts were mounting and they couldn't meet repayments.

    4. Message your local TD asking for their input and making them aware.

    5. Report company to the CCPC with backup documentation you may have.

    5. If there is anyone with access to the media via someone they know or otherwise I am sure they would be interested in the story as so many people's lives have been affected. I would be happy to discuss our family's experience.

It is possible we may not see our funds returned or only a small portion thereof but the Director of the company should not get away with the fraudulent activities. -snip-

    Thanks all.

you have no chance with suppliers, they haven’t ordered UPVC in 3 months , no idea where money from deposits are gone most likely to pay revenue, I worked there this is enormous, it’s extremely embarrassing and now no pay November and December, Christmas me arse

It’s fraud go to the guards

over a million,,, this is going to be huge

I'm out thousands of Euros too. What horrible people, sales staff hoodwinking thousands of Euros up until recently despite them knowing that everyone has had their dates delayed. Should be ashamed of themselves. What are the chances of anyone recovering their order from suppliers? I presume DK Windows never paid anyone a penny of our deposits.

Same boat, my door was ordered through Apeer up north. I don't know about my windows but from the contract they have the code VIC1 which when Googled gives me Victorian Slider Sash windows in Tullow. Emailed them both, only hope I have is DK Windows telling me the order was placed. Their word is as useful as a chocolate fireguard though.

    Order on Hold:

    • One order is ready for manufacturing but has been paused. Although we have received the advance payment, order has been delayed due to the uncertainty of the current situation.

    Pending Orders:

    • Seven confirmed orders are awaiting advance payments. These orders have not been released for production as the required payments have not been received.

If this information is relevant to your situation, please feel free to reach out to us directly using the contact information below:

    Email: sales@smartalu.lt Phone: +370 604 57 353

We look forward to assisting you with any inquiries or concerns you may have.

P.S.: if you bought UPVC or aluclad from DK we will not be able to help you, as we only manufacture aluminium.

People should exercise a large degree of caution when reading the content of posts from new accounts here. The thread has already had troll posts from what I've seen.

We paid €7,700.00 deposit one month ago. I'm heartbroken to have received the email yesterday from the liquidator

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3 Ali1711

I joined Boards.ie today. I googled for any help after I received the email yesterday. We've tried all mobile numbers for DK Windows but nothing. This thread seems the most helpful.

    A lot of misinformation.

It is of zero interest to gardai.

If you paid by bank transfer, there is nothing a bank can do.

The liquidator is now in charge of all dealings.

If you paid by credit card OR debit card you can now initiate a charge back as a liquidator has been appointed.

For any advance payments, ALWAYS pay by debit or credit card. The fees charged to sellers are very low (less than 0.5% for debit cards and less than 0.7% credit cards)

It gives you payment protection if things go wrong.

If a company insists on bank transfer, simply walk away

We are the in the same boat with DK windows. We had a huge retro fit done last year for a significant sum of money. All the windows were manufactured, measured and fitted incorrectly. DK have been a nightmare to deal with and dispite many attempts to work with DK on a solution we had been left with no choice but to go down the legal route, however now they have closed down we have no way to get any of our windows replaced or fixed and we have been waiting over a year to get this sorted. The worst ever company to deal with. We are down a huge sum of money. I understand companies hit hard times but this company has taken peoples hard earned money for their own personal gain. I really hope what goes around comes around for the owner of this company.
