Hi we are replacing an old manual heating and water timer that control a grant boiler system. Current controls in attached photos. It's 2 zones heat (upstairs and down) thermostat pictured is same for both. Looking for a timer control that can be controlled by phone aswell. Advice I got from local plumber was 2 hives which is 350. Is there a better/cheaper option?

Tado is an option that might work although I am not sure if it will work directly with your Zoned valves, hopefully someone with a little more technical knowledge can advise.

The Tado starter kit starts at 110 euro, I find the Tado tech support to be very good if you have questions about compatibility and installation.

The system is modular so if you want to replace manual TRVs on your rads with smart ones you can do this over time so then each room will have its own zone.

Works with Google Home and Alexa although i find the Tado app to be very good.

Thanks a million for your reply. What's TRV?🫣 Also will the tado work for two zones and water? Which trade installs? Plumber or electrician?

I don't know if it will work with your system, but an electrician should be able to advise and install.

TRV is is a radiator valve that can be set to control a rooms temperature, it usually has numbers printed on the side.

The Tado ones are digital and will allow you to heat rooms individually rather than heating a whole floor or house, useful if you have a large house.
