Separate Fridge and Freezer vs American style large combo unit

Hi All, Just looking for advice/information. We are in the process of planning a revamp of our kitchen. We are wondering which is better separate units or one large combined unit?

a lot depends on size of family, are you looking at free standing units or American type spec, two separate units are unlikely in the future to fail together, you could also consider two individual units that would be integrated change the door hinge in one and have them like the American units,

Check the consumption/ rating for the American
IIRC they dont do well
