    Hi Guys,

We are looking for a 50 inch tv for an elderly person. Really just needs to have a Netflix button on the remote and be easy to use. We are a bit limited with space though as their stand is only 80cm wide so some of the ones with legs wont fit. I have had a look at the website and i am just wondering if you think any one of these 4 in particular would best or if you have any suggestions?

    Philips 50PUS8079

    LG 50UT91006LA

    Philips 50PUS8309

    Panasonic TB50W60AEY

    Thanks

PS Congrats to Kenny on 20 years service !

    Hey Imdke.

    Thanks :)

Out of those 4 I would lean towards the LG 50UT. It has a great picture and the smart HUB is easy to use and well laid out.

Next up the Philips 8309. It throws in Ambi light to the mix and also produces a great image. Smrt HUB can let it down unfortunately.

    Let me know your thoughts.

Thanks a million for the response. We were definitely leaning towards the LG one so it's good to know that you would recommend it. I see it is currently €528 on your website- do you think there will be any further reductions on it in the next few weeks?

    Hey Imdke.

Not sure if it will reduce any further to be honest.

We do have our Black Friday price promise in action, where if you purchase a product between now and the end of the event and should its price reduce within the event you can call us for a refund on any qualifying amount.

    Hi Kenny,

Sorry to bother you again but I have just noticed the Samsung UE50DU8500 is the same price as the LG 50UT91006LA.

How would these compare to each other, would either one be better?

    Thanks again

Thanks for getting back to us Imdke.

I would still favour the LG myself - I have an LG and I prefer the smart hub on it plus the addition of the magic remote makes it easy to navigate.

You also have a Saorview and a Freesat tuner built in so can get TV channels no matter what your source is.

Please don't hesitate to drop me a post if you have any further queries.

    Kind regards

    David

    Hi Guys,

One more question, does Nano model, LG 50NANO81T6A have a Saorview tuner built in?

    Thanks

    Hi Imdke.

It does indeed have a Saorview tuner and can get Saorview with no issues.

Wont start another thread on a 50" tv so will just add to this one, previously got a Philips 50PUS7855 from yourselves and its going strong, need another 50" for another room and wondering if the Philips 50PUS8009 if a step up from the 7855 or it it worth the extra few euro to go for the 8079??? Might just do with the SharpFJ2K, its mainly going to be used for xbox I think

    Hey Clebee.

Hope you have been keeping well and thanks for coming back to us.

The 50PUS8009 would be a setup over your 7855, with an improvement in picture quality.
moving into the 8079 version there seems to be no difference in spec between it and the 8009.

The sharp would be very basic even for gaming. I would try and stick with the Philips.

    Hey Glebee.

At the moment the web pricing would the best deal on those TV's.
There isn't great margins to play with on them.

Thanks Kenny, ill order through the site, forgot to ask will this fit on a wall bracket thats currently holding the 7855?

Thanks for getting back to us Glebee.

If your bracket is a universal bracket and supports the VESA patterns for both TVs you shouldn't have any issues!

    Kind regards

    David
