So maths would be my strongest thing so was fine for the first ten but the last ones were hard and long winded so instead of wasting time on it I guessed a few!! That doesn’t go to our final score so assuming best to just pass!!

Could be the totally wrong approach but too late now!!!

Yes you only need to pass the maths and the lay AP in 2022 maximum score was 800 and the pass mark was 390 so you should pass it

Just did the tests… I usually like numerical work, but I spent at least double the time on it compared to the others, which won't do well for my score! I just found that most questions required quite a bit of work, and I didn't want to guess them, so, rightly or wrongly, I gave them the time.

Also, I had clean scrap paper and pen on my desk for the first test (to be ready for the numerical), and I think you weren't supposed to, so I hope that won't go against me!

I'm glad it's over now, and I'm already crazy impatient to know the scores LOL!

Best of luck everyone. My best advice, as some have already stated, is

*be very fresh and ready to work hard

*Put your scrap paper (I needed 4 sides for rough work) and pen out of sight until you are about to hit start on the numerical test

*make sure you know how your calculator works (my daughter's calculator would only give answers in fractions, not decimals, and I couldn't ask her to fix it mid-test, so I switched to the computer calculator)

No, all windows/apps/programs except for the testing window must be closed. Going from previous posts, you can use the computer's calculator though.

I’m not feeling very positive to be honest but sure only time will tell! How long until we find out if we passed or score etc? Anyone that did it before what’s the score you need to have any hope of getting called for an interview?

For anyone who has completed the tests - how many SJT questions are there to do within the 60 mins?

    30? 50? 100??

    Thank you.

Did my tests there as just wanted them out of the way - very hard to judge aren't they? Bit concerned with how long I took as I wasn't paying too much attention to time but I wanted to get them right - hope that doesn't do me over in the end. Verbal seemed to be ok but so hard to tell as I've gotten a real mixed bag of results on the practice tests (from 5s up to 10s). SJ who knows. Definitely flubbed a few numerical questions at the end so I wasn't calculating any of the options available so had to guess, but think I got the majority earlier in the test so hopefully enough to pass at least. Best of luck everyone!

Question for anyone that has completed the tests, is it just the desk top that has to be clear? I’ve Christmas boxes “hiding” in the same room as my desk. It will be difficult to move them.

I was in my daughter's room, plenty of stuff around. I think (hope) it would be unreasonable to expect a totally bare room

I always wonder if they actually check the 2000+(?) room scans.

Has anyone ever heard of a candidate being disqualified for failing/breaching the remote proctoring?

There always seems to be people worrying about it, but there's never posts from people saying they were kicked out of a comp for a breach.

All those comps over all these years with thousands of candidates in each one…you'd think there'd be posts saying 'be careful about x because I (or a friend) was disqualified'.

Tempted to put in an FOI.

TBF they only need to check the scans of people who get through to interview, or even get offered a role, not everyone who is tested

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 190 ✭✭Juggler101

Yeah, I'd say they only check a proportion, or only those who get through to particular stages

I just finished all tests. There’s a lot of room scanning 😂 I did SJT as I always score low on this for AP competitions and wanted most energy and clear head for it. It was ok. Numerical was the hardest took me nearly 30 mins I was trying to get answers right but guessed ones where my brain gave up on me. Verbal was ok just make sure to read text make sure you are not using outside knowledge

Hi, can I ask about rough work paper for numerical? I presume it has to be just single pages, I can't have a jotter? Do you just tear a few pages out and have them on the desk?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 190 ✭✭Juggler101

I had two plain a4 pages on the desk and used all of it. probably best to have pages rather than a notebook id say

Do you need a scientific calc? Only have a really basic one which doesn't have much on it… wondering if I need one with powers etc on….

Numerical is usually my favourite but these Sova tests are the worst I've ever seen. There's no way the response was in the material I had for at least one of the questions. I haven't tackled situational judgement yet. They say it will take 60 minutes, is time also taken into account for the scoring on the situational judgement test?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 190 ✭✭Juggler101

My understanding is that time is taken into account for all of them (but check it yourself)

    Hey everyone,
I hope you’re all doing well. Best of luck to those taking this test. I wanted to share my experience: in the Situational Judgment section, I mistakenly mixed up the first two questions, confusing ‘appropriate’ and ‘inappropriate’ responses. Additionally, the math questions were challenging due to the need to scroll left and right to view them fully. Overall, it was a valuable learning experience for next time. For now, I’m not holding my breath. 😊

Oh, and the camera comes on throughout the test window, which scared the sh..t out of me 😂.

OMG, those numerical tests were brutal.

I actually normally do well on numerical but that was tough.

Verbal I'm not sure how I did. Good luck to all.

    When are results out? :)

I completely agree with you, especially since the numerical test is the worst. 🤦‍♀️

Can you do the three tests in separate sittings/ maybe one each over different days ? Assumed it was all in one sitting of about 90mins but the booklet says” if possible” ?
