perhaps hamas shouldn't have kidnapped and enslaved all those people i the first place , they stole babies ffs and grannies , killed jews Muslims Christians , anyone they could really isnt that true ?

go back and watch the gopros that those animals wore because they wanted to remember and encourage others to do the same . murder porn , anyone involved deserves to die asap

Hamas definitely deserve to die but those that continue to support the war crimes against innocents in Gaza should take a good hard look at themselves. Israel will continue to commit these crimes when they have support in the West to do so.

I repeat the question, what pressure have the Israeli public and media put on Netanyahu to have the hostages released? Do they even give a toss about them?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,677 ✭✭✭mikethecop

They were not kidnapped and are not being held by anyone but hamas .

do you think those peoples family's dont want them back ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,291 ✭✭✭✭Strazdas

The Israeli media and public seem far more energised in supporting the "war" and Netanyahu than in getting the hostages back.

It's difficult to take western commenters seriously on the hostage situation when the Israelis themselves don't appear to give a toss about them.

The IDF have killed some of the hostages - at least three that are known. The three that were surrendering in Hebrew, stripped to the waist, white flags raised. One even had red hair. And one ran away when shots were fired but when he returned, still surrendering, they shot him too.

Presumably those IDF soldiers deserve to die also.

So, stealing babies and grannies, killing civilians. videoing the whole lot and encouraging others. And anyone involved deserves to die.

You'll undoubtedly have no difficulty with war criminals Netanyahu, Gallant and Deif receiving the death penalty. And throw in all the IDF who murdered for the craic.

I agree about Hamas but there are no good guys on either side. Both sides have the blood lust and innocents die as a result. Israel are verry bit as bad as Hamas but have the capacity to kill more innocents and certainly have done so. It's time for them to talk peace

Well Hamás definitely didn't think it through, did they. Not so sure what they did expect to achieve by that attack. It was very clear, Israel won't answer with afternoon tea party and negotiations. The thing is, IMO, those clowns just gave a free card for battering Gaza all for fooked up religion. Not mentioning leaders living in luxury, billions worth out made of the humanitarian help. Gazans starving at the same moment…, but Israel does this and that. If by any chance I'd believe in something, as they seems to believe, I would certainly share my wealth, chair with you and the dinner. Money involved in between all those cúnts pretending being a freedom leaders would probably fully rebuild Gaza, and if they for a moment put money towards to rebuilding, proper education etc., they would have a chance. Instead of fuelling pointless, delusional attempts of destroying Israel. Now what are the chances of that..

On the top of that, what are the chances of two state solution?

Israel certainly have means, so why would they needlessly risk lives of their soldiers? And I don't really think their primarily target one are the innocents. On the other hand, if Hamás had any chance to wipe Israel out they would, in a sec, without any hesitation and would probably be celebrated by Palestinians in the streets, just like we've already had opportunity to see the celebrations after October attack.

If there's just a fraction of Hamás left in Gaza, why the fook Palestinians doesn't drive them away? Should be pretty easy task by now? And, without a doubt, that would give them much more opportunities and international support, and at the same time more leverage to back off Israel's attempts at land grabbing?

Apologies, not all of my answer is intended to answer your post. But since you are the part of the most vocal community here..

Victim blaming the Palestinians again. The way the Palestinians probably saw Oct 7th was that Hamas struck back for what they suffered for 75 years at the hands of the Israelis. It was never going to change and Israel was always consistent in making them suffer afterwards as it turned out. One thing that did work is that their plight has been recognised by every right-thinking country and Israel has been shown up for what it is, a Pariah state ran by War Criminals.

What about the 1500+ Palestinians that Israel have been kidnapping since before Oct 7th??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,911 ✭✭✭xhomelezz

Ah sure, I'm victim blaming.. jeez, only saying, if they are so not in agreement with Hamás, they have the opportunity now.. numbers low. I would go for it.

Unless you cry over and over the Palestinians (at least once a day), you are not welcome here. Israel is bad, should burn in hell all of them, Hamás is bad (but not so bad, cuz you know, what else is they can do), Palestinians are angels for sure, all of them.

They haven't a pot to p*** in especially in Gaza. Starved for months, shot, bombed and homeless and you want them to rise up against Hamas? Why aren't the Israelis trying to get rid of the War Criminals who have made Israel a Pariah state? Stop with the childish stuff.

I've seen videos and seen celebrations. I don't think I would, personally, celebrate anything of that and then expect humanitarian help to take care of my dinner.

One thing that did work is that their plight has been recognised by every right-thinking country

Not so sure if that's the outcome.

If I go the way you are dismissing others posts here, I'd say saying what you said in your post you must be Hamás supporter.. But I wouldn't be that stupid to say anything like that...

Childish stuff, yeah right. What are the chances of getting your ass up from your comfy sofa and do something about their situation, bar from being really "concerned" about their well-being on boards, multiple times a day?

    I'd say next to zero.

How deluded can posters be? Israeli leaders have been charged with war crimes, with deliberate starvation of the civilian population yet still people come on here brazenly saying they re not targeting innocents in Gaza. Both hamas and Israel are war criminals now. It is a sad fact that can't be ignored.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 54,108 ✭✭✭✭tayto lover

We saw plenty of Israelis celebrating the bombing of hospitals, homes, schoold etc too. We've seen videos of their soldiers laughing about it too plus the 2 hits with 1 bullet on the pregnant woman. I'm not going to suggest that you supported that either.

Israel is indeed seen as a Pariah state around the world and it's leaders as War Criminals. I'm not suggesting that you support War Crimes either.

I'm loading my gun and getting ready to head off as we speak.

Good, finally someone is gonna sort out the mess over there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,790 ✭✭✭dmcdona

    Not whataboutery at all.

It's called a counterpoint - you talk about the murderous nature Hamas and yet totally ignore the fact that 2/3 of those up for war crimes are Israeli.

There were Israeli civilians who set up discos, barbecues and tents so they could all watch, real-time, the murder of Palestinian civilians and the razing of Gaza.

Israelis also set up road blocks to prevent food and medical aid getting through - this ensuring the Palestinians would die from lack of both necessities.

The Israel's wail and gnash their teeth very publicly at the loss of their compatriots to Hamas terrorists but rejoice in the loss of any Palestinian civilian. Including over 700 babies who didn't even make their first birthday.

The only sad fact I can see is, posters here, together with all powers involved, let it go that far.. And now it's the time to get involved, split into 2 camps and fight! Pathetic, seriously. It's more of a body count thread..

If I can politely express my opinion, Israel will be and is as we speak, seen as an asset in that region. And in compare to any country surrounding, it's a haven. So Israel will stay, and it will be supported. Do I agree with civilians being killed? I don't!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,911 ✭✭✭xhomelezz

Sorry, empty, have to feed family and doggies. And I wouldn't finance anyone's crusade for sure. There are better ways.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,790 ✭✭✭dmcdona

I don't think Israel is seen as an "asset" anywhere in the world - let alone the region. Israelis are leaving, Israel is a busted flush.

The only power they have is what they've achieved by force and the murder of many tens of thousands of civilians.

By all means, continue to support Israel and defend them - that is your right. And of course, that means you tacitly support the murder of civilians.

Personally, I would not support war criminals or a nation engaged in genocide. I will call them out until they stop. That is my right.

Ah shucks !! Thought you were concerned enough to support me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,819 ✭✭✭Sudden Valley

Body count is a serious issue. But more of an issue is Israel, who you for some reason call an asset, is now also committing war crimes. I'm against them continuing to do that. I'm not sure what camp that places me in your mind. But to say Israel is not deliberately targeting civilians is just a lie.

That's great, since Hamás is a what, elected leader in Gaza? You should probably call Palestinians out too on that matter..
