Having seen the goals, City might bid for Kelleher !!

They’re a shambles at the moment. All over the place at the back and lethargic in midfield. Salah will have a field day on Sunday. Hard to see them putting in a serious performance.

At least City broke the run of losses, that's good. New cycle can start Sunday .😂

Feyenoord fans singing YNWA and Slot's song after the match yesterday 😋

We have seen that movie before with Liverpool, get a soft penalty, soft in that it was a penalty but they do not happen due to their play but just some bad timing for the defender, a deflection and then a breakaway goal. And then the tide turns and it just seems it doesn't matter what you do, you cannot stop what will happen. A mistake leads to a goal, a deflection from the keeper on to the post breaks for the attacker instead of going out for a corner and then before you know it is 3-3.

The worry is, they are still dangerous with very good players. We beat them at home in 2022-23 when we finished 5th, so we should not underestimate that they can still hurt us, even if they are short of confidence.

can't see a 5-0 but can see them hitting us for 3 or 4 .

I thought Haaland's petulant rebound shot after his penalty last night was indicative of the issue with City right now, it's an attitude of entitlement.

I saw someone compare it to our 20/21 season but we were literally dead on our feet after what we did in the previous 2 seasons. City don't look exhausted to me, more they've lost interest.

I've no doubt they'll buck up on Sunday but I see no reason to fear them.

Salah won’t be having a field day on Sunday. Pep is notorious for changing approach when playing Liverpool the last few seasons, and this Sunday will be no different unfortunately. We’re actually the perfect opponent for him this weekend in one sense, Pep knows he needs to change it up, and we will provide a platform / excuse for him this weekend to play a lot more conservatively.

City conceded a goal against Spurs on Saturday, and 1 last night, where they had 8 players confined to 1 quarter at the top of the pitch, they got done by the simplest of clearances into the acres of space on the other side. We will not be afforded such luxuries on Sunday. Also a weird stat on City, they’re actually creating more big changes and have an higher combined xG than they did at this stage last year. They just keep missing huge chances ATM, like they should have be 2 up after 10 minutes against Spurs on Saturday. That won’t last forever, they will find their scoring boots again, let’s hope it’s not on Sunday!

Under Klopp Trent would decide if he plays tonight, he'd declare him fit, you don't put injured players on the bench. He won't have the luxury with Slot, Klopp would play him simply out of respect for him wanting to start, and all they've been through, he'd trust him to make that call. Slot won't play him, even when Trent tells him '' i want to play''

Slot said in the press conference yesterday that TAA isn't fit enough to start the game but he may get a few minutes late on. He is more methodical in his approach to games than Klopp was, there's no hint of emotion in his team selections.

Hope we get to see Elliott come off the bench for a little cameo tonight. Get a few minutes into the legs before maybe a bigger cameo on Sunday.

Strong team tonight anyway. Mac, Grav, Curtis in midfield, Mo, Darwin, Diaz up front.

Completely forgot this goal, pity how the rest of the game unfolded

Great to see a strong side for tonight, it's always the same faces tho, slightly concerned about workload for some. Recalling Doak from loan in place of Chiesa could help. We need a strong dominant ball playing centre half - just in case and for rotation- and I don't think its Quansah. I think Elliott will slip right into Slotball but not sure as 1 of 2 holding or further up.

Christ the lads chat on about Salah on RTE is a bit painful… like, none of us know exactly what the situation is, but we do at least know the bits that have been fairly heavily floated/leaked - that his preference has always been to stay, that he has no interest in Saudi at this stage of his career, and that he's not looking for a raise but rather a longer contract. And yet we've the lads chatting without any sense of checking into what the rumours are at least… Sadlier talking about maybe Mo wanting 600k, and no end of talk about him going for a big last payday to Saudi. (I think he'll get his last big payday to Saudi - but not in his early 30s. The money will still be waiting for him at 36 or so, when he's not competitive at the top level anymore).

Would have liked to see one or two more lads rested. This isn't a must win, Sunday is the far more important game imo

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,648 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

Hopefully a few important changes on 60 minutes. Think/hope we'll see Gakpo and Szobo on around then anyway, and then 3 from Gomez, Endo, Elliott, Trent, and Tzimikas not long after.

I would have rested Salah and VVD. Both have played an awful lot so far this season.

TBF it's on every podcast, newspaper, sports website around. They have to talk about it. Blame Salah not RTE.

My god that was a whisper away from 1-0 to us

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,821 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

Nunez been doing a bit too much of that lately, just killing the momentum

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,414 ✭✭✭Ottoman_1000

    Get up Nunez ya eejit...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,648 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

I'm not complaining about them talking about it - i'm complaining about them talking about it seemingly without any hint of the existing context, or how any of the previous contract stuff went. Like, if you're gonna have the chat on live tv, then at least have a quick google first maybe. Long saying that he was really surprised by Mo's interview the other day as he'd thought he was definitely leaving - despite Mo doing the same stuff with Sky a few months ago, going over to chat to the pitchside pundits and reiterate that he wanted to stay, and wanted the talks to progress.

I don't care what Ray and Darragh say, but our delivery from corners has been sh1te this season.
