Deer Stalking Course

I know tis a bit late in the season but anyone know when next course is being held and share some reading material please :)

Give the ifa a buzz also, and call the others, often they will run one if there is sufficient demand.

Would I still get the license on the grounds of target shooting for a 308 if no course is on and just do the course and update license for deer stalking when I pass.

OFC will only use the rifle off range when deer license is done.

You certainly could do since you'd likely be brining it to the range to zero it initially anyway, and in your good reason you can also state that you intend to familiarise yourself with the rifle before taking the deer course where you wish to use your own rifle, which is also a good reason to license now rather than after the course.

Deer alliance says they will be running some in Feb so that's grand.

They all normally kick off in February or early March so you will have a choice then

CSI advertising their next dates are February. Email a few of the other organisations like NARGC might have other dates on.

I've heard good things about the CSI one recently, so I'm inclined towards those.

I've heard some of the others have perpetuated some wrong information to students, and some outdated and dangerous practices to finish off wounded deer.

I would say whichever you choose to go with always check the law yourself if in doubt.

I did the CSI one recently and was pretty impressed. I had previously completed Swedens 6 months hunters ed course so I'm by no means a beginner, and I still picked up plenty of useful advice
