good to have options, €21.75 for a kg from them seems crazy to what it was five years ago but what can we do only buy in bulk when tbe offers are in 🤷‍♂️

The My Protein 5KG bag is the best value per kg. However **** them. I'm supporting Inside Nutrition.

^^^ For UK customers they can get 5kg of whey for €66 yet for us in ROI it's €83

    How do MyProtein justify that?😏

Delighted I found this thread. My protein is just too expensive. Will try inside nutrition

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 934 ✭✭✭tommythecat

Have to say pretty disappointed with inside nutritions whey protein. It is so thick. I was using On protein but thought I would try this as it's way cheaper. With On I could just give it a quick shake with water and it would mix no problem and also do two or three scoops if I wanted more. With inside protein you can only do one scoop and you even need to blend that. And it also tastes like pancake mix or something. Rotten. Mixing with fruit etc to get me through the bag for now. Will return to overpaying for the On I think.

I like the thickness of it and I think the flavour is the best I’ve tried over the years, vanilla banana or strawberry for early morning and chocolate orange or salted caramel work great for the evening time

IN works better for me mixed with water as the thickness with milk isn't to my taste.

I rarely mix as a shake, but I really can't say I've noticed an issue with the regular inside nutrition in my porridge or mixed with greek yogurt. Salted Caramel my "go to", but also regularly have the chocolate, and white chocolate and raspberry. As well as various sample packs. I've never used ON, but Inside Nutrition compares favourable to the myprotein options it replaced for me.

I find Inside Nutrition protein mixes better with yogurt and porridge. Its also the easiest to clean.

Bulk have a further 10% off

Brings their 5kg whey down to under €15 kg delivered.

Cheapest whey I've seen for a quality product.

I’ve heard Lidl have started doing their own whey protein

    Anyone tried it?

BLACKFRIDAY all one word for Inside Nutrition

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,816 ✭✭✭runswithascript

Hard to beat Bulk Powders this Black Friday. It was MyProtein last year but if you look at how pure the powder is as below they have reduced the amount of protein:

    IMG-20241129-WA0003.jpg

Amfit Vanilla (Amazon DE) actually offering better a better deal if you do not mind having flavouring added. No less processed unflavoured from them this year.

A lot of people seem to shill this thread with companies offering terrible value and purity around these discount periods, and I am all for supporting competition and Irish businesses but I am not here to subsidise you and have to go with the company offering the best value.

€78 for 5 x 1kg of whey from inside nutrition was a decent price and it was shipped within the hour and loyalty points added and I got 100 (€10)bonus points too happy days

Beats MyProtein at that price but not Bulk Powders. The difference for 5 kg is small but it adds up if you are buying for a year, especially if for more than one person. Happy to give them my costs if they can beat or match the competition next year, maybe they could save on packing by offering 5 kg bags instead of 1 kg.

they have 2kg bags but it works out the same price, herself likes a choice of flavours and getting a tenner back in points brings it down to €68

I do not see points like that as getting €10 back, or €10 off the price - unless you use it during the current discounted prices of €78 per 5 kg, in which case it is worthwhile and it really is an actual €10 discount.

Your points that you have said have a nominal value of €10 have a real value worth less if instead you use them when paying any price higher than current, like the list price of €112.45 for 5 kg. That would also means you are taking a loss paying that much higher premium price in the first place.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,020 ✭✭✭✭OmegaGene

well I am up to €100 credit with them, how you wish to see the tenner back is up to you I guess, the referral system is great to boost the points, I’ve cashed in €240 so far 👍🏻

That probably explains why there is so much promotion of their products in this thread, even when the value was very poor compared to the alternatives, though like I said for today at least they are only second to Bulk Powders in terms of value.

Does their referral system offer more to the referrer than that of MyProtein or Bulk?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,020 ✭✭✭✭OmegaGene

haven’t a clue, I stopped using my protein when brexit messed up tbe prices and influencer codes stopped working, I tried a few brands and found inside nutrition to mix and taste good for me and next day delivery is ideal

I don’t think the popularity is because of the referee system, there’s not many people posting them here

Never one did the referral links work for me when people posted them here, I tried different emails, incognito mode etc and no luck.

they do work, I’ve used a few emails to bump my rewards up.
they do take a white to credit and it needs to be a €50 spend
