If I had abs like that I'd never wear a shirt!

His smiling when he would miss chances used to really annoy me until I heard him say recently that he does it intentionally cos early in his Liverpool days someone pulled him aside (can't remember who) and told him that as the superstar of the team if he looks really annoyed and angry after missing a chance that that will permeate through the team and instead he needs to keep his head up and keep positive etc….Now I respect it.

I suppose an Ipswich win now would be too much to ask for ?

Just to cap a nice weekend

Far far from over trust me,couple of losses for us and they all back in it.

Win nxt week and maybe just maybe we'll have one hand on it

Salah in a nutshell these days.

Looks like the worst player on the pitch for half a game. Then couldn't look more dangerous for the entirety of the second half. And our match-winner ... again.

    Just the most ridiculous player.

these are the results city inflicted on us for year where we used to say it’s the ole that kills you that will hurt city

Even when Salah looks bad or like he's not getting involved he's always pulling at least 2 defenders and probably has to attention of even more. His presence alone opens space for others.

Poor performance today but at least we're still making these comebacks and showing cool heads.

Huge period coming up now, not to think too defensively but it's nice to be going in with a cushion.

And the game after that break is a cup game or a weekend off

The next 2 weeks for us:

Madrid, City. Newcastle and Everton away.

If it's still 8 points after all that then I'll be absolutely delighted

to come back and win that I think is massive, given City’s result yesterday.

It would have been a massive boot in the balls to lose to the worst team in the league in that context.

Yeah as much as I'd rather we just blew Southampton out 5-0 or whatever, there's a certain joy in knowing rival fans were watching and getting their hopes up 😅

Mo Salah is the best player in the world right now.

Blast it, that new manager bounce didnt last too long.

    Sorry wrong thread.

I'm amused at posters saying 8 point lead and a superior goal difference. If the 8 point lead is reeled in, so to will the goal difference, especially if it is City reeling us in. If City manage to get in their groove they always smash teams by 3 or 4 goals.

There is zero sign that City side can get back in that groove again. Rodri is the heartbeat of that team and they look lost without him. Honestly think they'll finish behind both us and Arsenal this season.

City still had 23 shots against a Spurs side playing out of their skin, and had a number of clear cut chances. Haaland will not keep missing. Far too early to be writing them off.

Good win after a poor performance.

All about City next week, fvck the Madrid game in my view. Effectively nothing riding on that game in terms of the standing in the Champions League, rest the bodies and prepare for next week.

There is no way there will be 11 changes for the Real game midweek. Why can't we play our best 11 against them and not be ready for city on Sunday?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,616 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

I think we can start to believe, if we beat City, and Arsenal fail to beat WH away next week . We also have the advantage of playing Arsenal at home, 3 games from end of season. And fact City are away to Arsenal, Spurs, Forest, Man U, in second half of season, banana skins, plus City end season away to Fulham, who are decent, 4pts off Arsenal currently. We end season at home, against Palace.

Beat City and we can afford to drop points, we don't need to be perfect , but we need to beat them.

I'd be quite happy with a draw against City.

We were fairly putrid for a lot of todays game.

Given the current standings, a draw would be a fantastic result.

Rubbish,a bit of luck on their side and they would have beaten spurs yesterday,, January transfer window is not far away either.

you all seem to be ignoring Chelsea.

In my opinion they are now the biggest threat to Liverpool winning the league.

No one is ignoring them, but they blow hot and cold too often, 4th for them I think.

Arsenal are in a better position given their experience of title run ins in particular.
