No country has successfully held Afganistan . Not the brits , the soviets or Americans .Unfortunately Ukraine doesn’t have the same territorial advantage or the madness of the Taliban

    You're asking me now?

I gave my solution two years ago.

I said to take the Russian threat seriously. I said to provide all means for Ukraine to defend itself, the money, the weapons, the ammunition. I said give modern Western equipment instead of obsolete junk and provide parity in ammunition on the battlefield.

For this, I was told by you, and other supposedly pro-Ukrainian people that I was the Russian shill.

So you guys in Sinn Fein are 100% in support of Ukraine?

No negotiation with Putin on territory, No Partition. Right?

    Are you on drugs?

I've never once advocated for a far left party (or their compatriots in the Socialist Democrats, Labour, PBP) like Sinn Féin.

    We're going up up up!

Expect Russia to raise interest rates in the next few days.

If Trump were to open the oil and gas tap what sort of effect might that have on the ruble?

I'm on the verge of a site ban. Please don't rage bait me, I'm easily triggered especially late at night!

Trump's Drill Baby Drill policy is not good for Russia, their oil is **** quality and they lack modern drilling expertise.

You were, give Russia what they want, a partitionist, unlike your stance on Northern Ireland. When challenged on this you went silent. Presumably you’ve not since done a volte-face?

not really, proper channels were followed, nuclear war didn't happen…

it's in Russia's interest to notify the US, as soon as that missile is picked up by Aegis, or OTH radar, without warning, there are multiple being sent to various places of interest in Russia before it even hits the ground.

I suspect he's mixing you up with Francie Brady who is a SF spokesman on boards.

A classic boards drunken middle of the night rant 😂

The volume of shite is directly proportional to how badly things are going for Russia as a whole. It's designed to wear down supporters of the international rule of law in general and Ukraine in particular.

Take comfort from the fact that the more they post here, the more worried they are that they're losing.

this has been the case since the war started surely

How is the US one of the EU's biggest LNG suppliers if it is banned ? Biden paused the issue of new export licenses to companies who wanted to export. In effect it kept prices high because no new supply would enter the market which would lower prices.

Now we see the benefits of that when more supply is needed at this time of year.

Why would anyone call you a Russian shill for saying Ukraine needs proper equipment to beat Russia and to take the Russian threat seriously??

Footage of the Oreshnik in flight taken from Kazakhstan the other morning. Scary to think they have the Avangard which is mach 26 meaning it would of hit Dnipr in just over 120 seconds.

    The answer is in bold.

I know, i was responding to the poster that said Biden had banned LNG exports. But you knew that didn't you ?

Seems to be a common trend in this thread, really weird behaviour. Apparently if you are critical of the wests response to this or point out places Russia are advancing you are a Russia supporter or something.

We all should be nervous if that happens but it won't. The nuke threat is just that a threat. Both Russia and the west know any nuclear attack by either side would be the end of life on earth so it will never happen.

it would definitely end most life in Russia. It would do a lot of damage in the west. But thinking Russia being at 1980’s level ICBM nuclear provisioned level is farcical.

Amazing what you can do with a few washing machines yet people think they are not capable to make parts themselves to drill for oil. The mind boggles honestly.

Well obviously command and control on the west seem to think they are fairly capable that's the only reason I can think why they are being so cowardly but yeah boards posters know better.

Even if Trump throws Putin a lifeline, they're still screwed economically. It's unlikely Europe will lift sanctions and that market is effectively dead for Russia in the medium term, at best. And it was a big chunk of their revenue. A cursory glance at Russian pipelines and where they go, or used to go will show that. Then they inherit a chunk of Ukraine that's one of the most mined regions on earth, empty of people, with infrastructure completely blasted and leveled. That will take trillions which they don't have to sort.

One nuclear war head landing would do massive damage, so the threat is worth considering. A War Games (the movie) scenario is no longer feasible. And people in Russia have to contend with incoming ICBM’s AND their own misfiring. I think we can all agree nuclear war pretty much wipes out a lot of Russia, all urban areas and any areas where launches could come from.

Russia’s most likely threat is from submarines. I think Russia has maintained some of these, but you can be sure NATO knows where they are and would be targeted massively first.

But, look at Trident and the cost that entails for the UK, a significant burden on the UK, which alone is a bigger economy than Russia. Russia’s aging fleet is larger. Even that may be much less capable than feared.

Guys you are all worried about wrong scenario

The scenario keeping everyone up at night should be

either Putin hitting one of them nuclear plants deliberately

Or Ukrainians on brink of being overrun and genocided deliberately destroying the dozen nuclear plants in Ukraine and the dozen more within reach of their drones and missiles and several major Russian cities getting deliveries of all that plutonium

Salting the earth and leaving Russians and Russia with a radioactive mess which will drag Russia down with them

The Russians (and their Zwastika wearing representatives on this thread) haven’t learned anything three years into their three day war and keep role playing their fantasies of being at war with NATO and not Ukraine and hence missing the threat Zelensky made of Ukraine already being capable of mutually assured destruction of Russia

What washing machines? They stole a lot from Ukraine in the early days of the war. But maybe you are on to something, maybe your supreme commander in chief is losing 1,000 men a day to take washing machine rich Ukraine territory.

Have you inadvertently given away a Russian strategic objective? Retreating Ukraine troops better destroy bridges AND washing machines 😱

Keep away from the third floor up on any building. 🪦

I don’t see this common trend at all?

All of us who are pro Ukrainian have been saying since the start the West needs to give more.

What I do see is posters saying Ukraine should cede territory and let Putin get what he wants because Russia will win anyway as the West is too weak.

    All thinly veiled of course.

More amazing that you posted a video(spooky music!!) that's not the Oreshnik missile, but the launch of a Soyuz transport to orbit. For a start the missile is a single stage vehicle, that's a two stager. You see similar vapour trails with Space X launches for example.

I suppose Kremlin spin doesn't have to be the best and brightest mind you, as it gets memory holed within weeks, if not days. But it works well enough on those who aren't the best and brightest so it's effective.
