Thin ceiling slab

My daughter has a house that was built between 20 & 30 years ago. The ceiling slab is a very thin slab and I am finding it very difficult to find somewhere that sells something similar. Most slabs on sale are the usual 1/2 inch thick ones…. the slab in her ceilings are much thinner that those ones. Any guidance or advice for me?

What slab are you referring to? Is it the ceiling plasterboard? Most plasterboard these days is 12.5mm, while older stuff can be 8mm. You might find 9.5mm in Chadwicks. Tell us more.
