Nonsense Lyrics

So yeah, this category – we all have songs we like that make absolutely no sense whatsoever! Be it the subject matter, the way someone sings a song or even the words themselves just being a jumble of nonsense. We actually had a couple of duplicates in this category which is good for some and not so good for others… but the end product is that the bottom place will earn 4 points this time out.

As for myself, here are a few songs I’d have considered entering for this category…

Dragostea Din Tei – O-Zone

It may be in a foreign language but you can tell they are talking absolute nonsense the whole way through. That being said, damn it’s catchy.

I’m On A Boat – The Lonely Island feat. T-Pain

The lyrics aren’t really nonsensical here but the way they are sung makes it a viable song for this category imo. I know it’s a comedy song or whatever but for me, it fits.

The Safety Dance – Men Without Hats

Another track that just makes no sense. What exactly is safe about the dance?

And for the lols, I added a fourth bonus one I thought of while doing the write up…

My Lovely Horse – Father Ted Crilly & Father Dougal Maguire

We have to lose that sax solo!!

I might be slightly delayed with the reveal trying to currently get out of a zoom meeting… sometimes people don't stop talking though..😫

This is basically how I think that rap sounds to non-English speakers! They must think that this lad and the like are just jabbering absolute and utter rubbish! It didn’t move the needle much for me either, that being said.

Liked the music here. It’s a bit slow to get going mind and I can barely hear what the lads are saying with the distortion. I think this with a bit quicker tempo might have scored higher but I don’t necessarily dislike this version either.
