Hello, I emptied the water from water tank in the attic. tied up the ballcock to stop it filling. turned on taps in bathroom and hot tap in kitchen to empty. cleaned the tank. filled the tank up again. now there is no water coming out of the hot taps in kitchen nor in bathroom. I have left them on for hours and nothing coming out.

any advice or tips to help solve would be appreciated.

It's an old house, single story semi D. I don't have it long.

    Thank you.

It's air locked most likely, if you have a mixer tap turn it on and use your hand or something to stop water coming out so it goes up the hot pipe to clear it.

A hoover that can suck water will do it otherwise, or in a pinch your mouth around the tap if you have a good suck!

(Close all other hot taps and do one tap at a time)

Thank you for the tips! I Went out to try it…I actually got the screw cap off a bottle of shower gel, one that fitted snugly around the end of the tap in kitchen that slid up a few milimeters on end of tap. With hot tap open, I turned on cold tap…held the screw top plastic yolk in place for a few minutes and it worked! It took me three go's to get hang of it, 3rd time lucky! Fxxk! amazing, its a miracle! cant believe it. thanks again for the tips. that's fantastic. appreciate it.

I remember someone telling me the same, without a mixer, just connected a hose from the cold to the hot. Would never have figured that out, would have went the long way round but a great thing to know.

Thanks again, yeah, all this DIY is very new to me, I don't know what I'm doing. ha. just got my first house a few months ago so a million things to fix on the list ,in an old house. I tell myself something is impossible for me to fix and a few week or months later I figure out a way to solve it, amazing.
