    Hi,

The inner pane of my Velux roof window has shattered. No idea why.

Can I get the double glazed unit replaced (i.e. the glass only) or do I have to get the whole frame + glass replaced?

And for either option, do anyone have an idea of cost? Window is 62 × 75cm, not including frame.

    A few pics here:

    Thanks.

It's a known fault. Contact Velux directly and they will replace it free of charge.

    Velux replaced it FOC.

Had 2 in the converted attic replaced a few years ago. They were both perfectly fine, no breakages or anything but I got in contact with Velux after a friend had a broken one replaced in his house free of charge, they came out & replaced them both! 👍🏼

this happened to 3 of my velux windows (20 years old).

contacted velux, read off the code numbers, they said they were part of a known faulty batch, and replaced all 6 of my veluxs for free!

Just a final update, I logged a service call on Velux website a couple of weeks ago, with window codes.

Velux guy came out today and replaced glass in the broken one and it's unbroken twin. Took him 30mins.

Great service and all free - as Mufler and others advised from the start.
