    They have not.

Illegal immigrants cannot access social welfare.

Aontu would still be Sinn Fein if it wasn't for their backward thinking on women's rights.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,487 ✭✭✭Vote4Squirrels

Firstly that wasn't the question - but you know this.

The point was "impacting social welfare" which they very much do.

Animal charities and local hospice are the only ones I give to for years. As you said, some of my tax contributiions goes to plenty of these NGO's, at home and abroad.

How can illegal immigrants impact social welfare when they cannot access it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,293 ✭✭✭enricoh

Amnesty for illegals here wrapped up 2 years ago, taxpayer on the hook financially for them now before they were on their own. Family reunification on top? , go on Helen throw it in too!

Her n Roderick vying for patron saint of the refugee industry!

No Longer illegal immigrants, that was the point of the scheme. Illegal immigrants cannot access social welfare

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,293 ✭✭✭enricoh

Illegal immigrants - get amnesty - access to social welfare - impacts social welfare .

    correct?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,493 ✭✭✭✭suvigirl

Nope. Because illegal immigrants do not get access to social welfare. Those that enter the scheme are no longer illegal immigrants.

I think there's quite a bit, and I mean quite a bit, you'd agree with SF on.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,493 ✭✭✭✭suvigirl

There's Absolutely nothing they could ever say that would induce me to vote for them. Ever.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 878 ✭✭✭creeper1

I'd only accept them on a one in one out basis. That is net zero.

    Net zero refugees that is

For every south African, Nigerian, Albanian, Algerian, Egyptian, Pakistani, etc out I'd accept one in.

But who I am trying to kid? None of these are going anywhere

This is a thread on immigration policy.

What aspects of SF policy on immigration do you fundamentally disagree with?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,493 ✭✭✭✭suvigirl

Doesn't matter in the slightest to me what their immigration policies are. They just happen to be the only party that have come anywhere near to what I would suggest, that everyone must register their domicile.

I wouldn't vote for a party based on one of their policies only. And I wouldn't vote for Sinn Fein full stop.

Wouldn't it be such a pity if they were placed in the same streets as judges etc? I think things might begin to change drastically once that started happening!

When most of us say "social justice" we mean equality under the law opposition to prejudice, discrimination and equal opportunities for all. When Social Justice Activists say "social justice" they mean an emphasis on group identity over the rights of the individual, a rejection of social liberalism, and the assumption that unequal outcomes are always evidence of structural inequalities.

Pity the charts don't show the larger numbers we had coming in the early 00's, might give a bit better context.

Didn't I hear several times in this thread claims about crime rates and migrant people in Denmark, if true, any chance it might be related to their treatment of IPA's?

Maybe pushing people out of the asylum system to live undocumented isn't the best idea?

Of course Denmark appear to have done a bit of an about turn anyway recently and are now pursuing some kind of mk2 migration pact.

The lies in the last few days appear to focus around 'welfare dependency' and 'benefit tourism' so I think it's worth posting this again…

I've added a new point too, I'd asked here several times about the laws on arriving without documents but couldn't get an answer so I did a bit of digging. I've marked that one down as disinformation as in fairness it does seem to be a common misunderstanding.

Lie: Asylum seekers don't work and become welfare dependent.

Fact: The ESRI reports strong employment uptake by people from the IPA community.

    https://www.esri.ie/system/files/publications/RS160.pdf

Lie: People coming through 'safe' countries are 'bogus' asylum seekers.

Fact: IPA's do not have to stay in the first 'safe' country they reach. While many do, it's of course reasonable and legal to travel further, whether for family reasons, job opportunities or long term stability.

    https://fullfact.org/immigration/refugees-first-safe-country/

Lie: 'Bogus' asylum seekers arrive from 'safe' countries.

Fact: Countries which are designated safe by the Department of Integration are deemed to be so for the majority of people. People can still seek asylum from these country where individuals or smaller minority groups might still be persecuted.

Disinformation: Illegal migrants enter the country without documents.

Fact: It is illegal to entry the country without documents only if the person cannot provide reasonable justification for not having same. Also, those applying for international protection still have a legal right to remain in the state.

You would want to be a lunatic or a NGO shill to believe that people there aren't bogus asylum seekers who enter the country without documentation.

I would class them as illegal immigrants until proven not to be.

But, sure, you could be pedantic and argue that they are technically called something different.

We could cut the amount of murderers down to zero too if we called them "life enders". Zero murderers, but a few life enders in the country.

Fact: We have no room nor money for endless stream of undocumented immigrants \ asylum seekers \ scammers \ whatever.

I don't think we ever had someone who worked in the refugee industry post on boards. Quite amazing really with all the billions swirling around and all the extra people employed in it.

Come on folks, there's nothing to be ashamed of, is there?

The only hotel in town here is now on the ipa gravy train/people trafficking business call it what you will, after hosting Ukrainians for a year or so... Anyways the blinds are drawn 24 hrs a day since the ipas moved in,what are they afraid of if what they are doing is so noble and altruistic, let the light in.… everytime I drive past I'm reminded of how the French cover their heads with a napkin or cloth while they eat the little Ortolan such is their shame for indulging in this delicacy…then again the foreign consortium who bought the hotel 3 years or so ago I doubt have any shame, it's all about the 💶💶💶💶's, headcounts so much per unit, may as well be livestock

Fact: Stating something as fact does not actually make it a fact.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,493 ✭✭✭✭suvigirl

Just because you call them illegal immigrants, doesn't make them so. Just makes you wrong.

I don't believe anyone has ever claimed that there isn't people trying to game the system, have they?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,255 ✭✭✭MegamanBoo

True, but referencing it with reliable sources makes it far more likely to be so than if you have to resort to 'everybody knows'.

Hilarious... Derek Blight has to pay a donation to a refugee charity.

I guess he'll be officially part of the 'refugee industry' now. Fair play judge.

So a wee timeline on the situation

Feb 2021 - the much loved and much respected TD, Roderic O'Gorman, hits the send button on his beautifully hand crafted tweet inviting the 3rd world to Ireland - A tweet that was agreed on by everyone at the cabinet table inc FFG

Dec 2021 - Then one of the best and most intelligent TD's the country has ever known, Ms McEntee, sends another message to the less fortunate people of the world (just to confirm that Ireland is indeed the place to be) showing them that if they get here and stick it out for a while, there's a good chance they'll be given citizenship of Ireland and by extension, the EU and the UK due to the CTA - Ahh, the UK - the second Mecca

Early 2022 - Covid restrictions ease and the 3rd world take us up on our very generous invite and thinly veiled 'Psst, you'll get to stay anyway' message c/o FG

    IPAS accom Screenshot 2024-11- .jpg

    1st Govt response: Oops

2nd Govt response: Let's give Ukrainian refugees the highest payment of any country and accept UA refugees from all other countries as they realise that we pay the most, even though there's no obligation for us to do so

2021 to present date - Billions of taxpayers Euros paid out per year to fund this. Many, many multi-millionaires made in Ireland and across the world off the back of this racket

Nov 2024 - FG FF GP: 'Will you give us your number one vote?'

Edit: Nobody here gives a F about Derek Blighe Boo, so that wasn't quite the hit you might think

Concerns have been raised about the future use of a popular hotel in Cahir, South Tipperary, which is reportedly set to become an International Protection Accommodation Service (IPAS) centre.

Tipperary TD Mattie McGrath told Gript that he has received confirmation via email that the International Protection Accommodation Service is currently responding to an offer of accommodation made in respect of Kilcoran Lodge Hotel, Co. Tipperary. The TD says that the email was received from the Community Engagement Team at the Department of Integration, and that a full assessment of the property is underway at present.

Absolutely disgusting, greed, greed and more greed and this government has caused all of this. This government has fueled this absolute blight of illegal immigration and we have to stop this some how and our best chance is at the ballot box.

It breaks my heart to see what our country is turning into. I remember going to this hotel for Christmas dinner with my parents as a child and it was a fabulous scenic spot but look at what it's turning into now!!!!

Local communities, hotel workers, guest, all getting screwed once again in the immigration industry.

I'm not sure has anyone been to this hotel but it's located in a nice secluded area far from the Cahir (walking wise) it's really madness to to even consider the place in the first place but im sure the IPAS will enjoy the swimming pool and sure they'll get the spa treatment im sure they deserve it after such a grueling journey hopping from safe country to safe country and just seeing who'll accept them
