UK Child Trust Fund for child now resident in Ireland

We were living in the UK in the 1990's until moving back to Ireland in the late 2000's.

There was a scheme for any children born in the late 2000's where the government gave the child £250 to start off a CTF.

I contributed to that for a few years when we moved back home and it is going to mature soon.

In the UK, it would be treated a tax free fund on maturity.

How will this be treated by Irish Revenue?

It total, it will be in the region of £6000 (approx 7200).

    Roughly, it consists of:

    £250 - Government initial contribution

    £4000 contributions directly from me

    Therefore approx £1750 gains

    Any thoughts much appreciated.
