The credit card i have is black and the number on the back fades over time in that it disappears, i kid you not. I ring on monday and explained the problem and was told we will send a replacement. 5-7 days.

The only problem is the card was blocked and that caused a shed load of problems. I nearly got caught on toll. I rang today and got it unblocked with an apology but it should not have happened. I asked to raise a complaint and was advised a manager would ring me back today. i have been told by others they never ring back. they never rang back.

I had to wait 15 mins for the call to be answered.

Can they do what they like?

Im sure if you've no money at toll they add it to your registration for the next time or let you pay online etc.

Bad performance by bank by hardly the end of the world.

Most people would have a second form of payment for emergencies.

it’s a three digit number on the back. Surely you would remember it after a couple of uses.

No its the complete card number on the back if it was just the 3 I would have no problem.

Most people i know use contactless all the time but i will now put money in car(s) for just such a cock up. and make sure i have a big wad of cash for next time, at newsagents, dunnes tesco, coffee and garage etc i might even ditch the card.

i take it the are no means of raising a complaint we just have to suck it up.

    channeling your inner karen?

you number faded, and as soon as you called them they agreed to replace the card.

you have not explained how the card got locked. but usually if there is any chance of fraud, they take the more cautious option of freezing card. As they should. did you enter the ccv number incorrectly somewhere?

really not sure what you think they did wrong, and im not sure what the grounds for complaint are? because they blocked the card, and if so did they have grounds for suspecting there was an issue?

You have to complain to the company, get a final 'resolution' letter and then can complain to the FSPO - but I doubt they'd entertain a complaint about something like this when "oops, sorry" is pretty much the entire resolution required, and there was no loss.

Freezing the old card is an automatic process during the replace - for obvious reasons. They didn't do it out of malice.

A complaint is over the top considering the basic idea of no harm no foul.
