The Felon revealed!

In a first, close up video emerged yesterday of two Sukhoi SU-57 Felon, fifth generation stealth fighters, as they appeared at a Chinese military airshow in Zhuhai.

Described as prototypes, they turned out to be quite the dogs dinner of poor construction, witness marks between control surfaces and exposed fasteners and panel gaps.

There was also revealing imagery of previously unseen weapon bays.

While it may be argued that these are prototypes and that is to be expected, it also attests to a lack of general understanding of the build standards needed for true stealth capability.

Given the alarming rate at which SU-34s have been falling out of the skies in the Ukraine theatre, and losses in the Su-33/35 variants too, it does not bode well for the general stealth or survivability of frontline RF aircraft.

    Its giving TU-144.

Or as the kids would say, 'when you order your F-22 off Temu'

A little odd that they're showing them off when the finishes are so poor , the shape and design and engines could be great , the weapons bays amazing, but its the stealth , sensors and on board connectivity and processing that'll be what makes or breaks the aircraft ,

And if they can't even bother with screw heads and rivets , do you reckon they'll bother with fancy code and processors ?

Maybe that's why they're showing it off.

As I said when I 1st saw the videos in twitter. There's a fortune to be made in selling Isopon to Sukhoi 😉

That way they can at least make their cosplay 5th Gen look like it's got accurate panel fits! The undulations & flex visible on the underbelly panels is crazy too.

    That's a good point.

Has anyone done a study on the radar absorbancy of Isopon P38?

I'm sure it would add to the percentage composite make-up of the airframe, which could only be a good thing given the quality of the sheet metal work observed.
