I guess they'll be reinstalling the diet coke button on the Oval office desk.

I was a penniless immigrant in NY back in the late 80s and even then I could not understand why the guys I worked with in landscaping thought this Donald Trump guy was great. Their idea of a live show was a strip club. It was obvious that Trump was superficial, but I guess he was a poor guys estimation of what a rich guy was and they all felt they too could become him.

I was an very average student in school in Ireland, but in the US I felt like a genius and that was probably the main reason I didn't stick around when there were plenty of avenues to get legal. The cops would be drinking in Irish bars with lads they knew were there illegally, it was different time.

Honestly, this morning I feel it's only been reaffirmed that the US is getting a very representative president. It does feel like the end of the US era in global politics.

Total scaremongering. Oil prices will drop as they will drill drill drill in the states and this will directly lower prices in everything. As for the environment I think you are over estimating the amount of people who actually care.

That would put JD Vance in charge so a fumbling aging Trump is potentially a better person to be in charge

Does this mean Enoch Burke will get a full pardon?

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

Trump is a rich celebrity and politician - and is backed by powerful media (e.g. Murdoch's empire), so that sentence doesn't make any sense.

The Dem's biggest mistake was being in power during a time of high global inflation. Not that they caused it, but the average middle American voter doesn't see it that way.

I called the result and made money from it, but the next 4 years are going to be chaos and drama. Trump getting revenge, unchecked, pardoning himself, erosion of Democracy, anti-science, steps backwards, the whole 9 yards. But hey immigration will drop and the economic needle won't move much. That's what America has chosen, they will most certainly get it and more.

    No no.

You said “Russia will never tolerate NATO on its doorstep”

    NATO is on Russias doorstep.

Own your lies and Russian propaganda.

The media is so shocked….. that their propaganda didn't work and Harris lost. Seriously they discredit other sources of news but when they flat out make it up to further their own biased agendas they lose all trust.

If the democrats want to win elections they need to change their attitudes.

Just because you think Harris is likeable doesn't mean everyone else does.

They need to be able to understand how other people think not just themselves.

Again, you prove my point. Because you assume I am a Trump supporter because I think Harris was a terrible candidate?

Even though I have SPECIFICALLY said I thought Trump was terrible too.

I just don't seem to hate him enough for you.

    Sorry.

I can't make you believe me and to be honest, I couldn't care less. If you want to think of me as a winner and yourself as a loser, I will happily agree with you.

Inflation was a response to the increase in money supply to provide pandemic payments coupled with the disruption to the goods supply chain.

If you want to blame anyone, blame the pangolin.

The democrats are after many years of anti American attitude (you're flying the American flag - you must be a republican/Trump supporter), many years of support for anti American and criminal organizations like BLM and Antifa. The current administration missed a huge opportunity to actually finish the wall and show the average American that illegal immigration is still illegal and needs to be stopped. They failed to stop the BLM riots and prove to the average law abiding tax paying working American that the democrats are on their side, and not on the violent rioters' side. They allowed Trump and republicans to hijack the American patriotism and the America first mindset - these are not ideas that belong to only one side.

But no, Trump won because she's a black woman and his supporters are dumb.

Also, she missed another the huge opportunity: she should have invoked the 25th after that debate, be the official president, and actually DO something, prove that she's capable of being a president that can make a change.

I believe Trump's first duty as president will be to head to Springfield to spank Grandpa Simpson for the second non-consecutive occasion.

Trump, Trump, Trump, Fight, Fight, Fight. Nobody messes with Big Don 😆. The media tried their best to convince us Harris was winning lol. The clever ones didn't fall for it. Can't wait for the next four Years. They're going to be prosperous and fun.

So, do you take opinion polls as representative, or would you be one of the people who say 'how do they know what 75% of people think, they never asked me?'

Check out the democrats voters stance on abortion, they are not right wing.

A 3 month limit for elective abortions is 'restrictive'.

I take opinion polls with a grain of salt, you'll never find me making definitive declarations on the back of them.

Yesterday was the opinion poll that counts.

The US system is always looking to the next election. Because Trump can't run again, at the build up to midterms attention tends to shift to who will be the next incumbent.

If he loses the house and the Senate at mid term his legislative agenda will be hamstrung.

That said, saying he has less than two years to be effective is really just someone consoling themselves over the loss. While attention turns, DJT will remain president for the four years and has a lot of power to wield.

With protectionist policies on the way, brace for a Global Recession sooner rather than later.
Not much else to say about all this. I’m off to look at anything but the news for a long time

Biggest trick the republicans made was convincing people it wasn't them who started with all the identity politics stuff

Trump caused the war in Ukraine? Trump Caused covid? Trump caused the Biden administration to print 80% of the dollars in circulation today? All of which created most of that inflation.

Boy you sure do give the 4 years in which he did nothing and after loosing control of the upper and lower houses, was allowed to do even less, a whole lot of credit. What next, Trump forgot to put the toilet seat down in your en-suite and now your missus is mad at you? That damn Trump!
