Driving licence renewal - multiple categories

Hi. Maybe someone has an experience with multiple categories renewal.

NDLS makes it clear that it's possible to renew driving licence from 3 months before expiry date up to 10 years after expiry date.

Now - my case is as follows: licence issued in April 2018. Category B valid for 10 years until Apr 2028, categories C and D valid for 5 years until Apr 2023 (already expired).

If I renew my licence now, how long validity will I get?

Will I again get 5 years on C and D (until November 2029) and 10 years on B (Until November 2034).

Or will I get 5 years on C and D (until November 2029) but my B will remain valid only until April 2028 as on current licence?

Or maybe I'll get C and D valid only until April 2028 (5 years from last expiry date) and B valid also until April 2028 as currently?

Does anyone have any experience with that?

I'll be in a similar situation in a few months time.

I always assumed that when renewing the C & D part that the 'original' B & A parts would keep their 'original' expiry date. Guess I'll find out early next year.

(Its a great way for NDLS to make a few quid within 10 year cycles….)

C&D if renewed would now be up to Apr 2028 to finish at same time as B category on your current licence.

You didn't renew C & D in Apr 2023 when they expired. You'll will also need a Medical cert.

I was afraid that's going to be the case :(

Can't really understand the logic behind that "renew late, get shorter validity" but whatever.

I didn't renew in time, as I didn't need those categories then.

I renewed mine recently. CE was expiring August this year and B was to expire August 2029. New licence issued with CE expiring in August 2029 and B in August 2034

My driving card had expired a year or two a few years ago and when I renewed it, it was only valid up to the original next 5 year block so not sure if the same applies to the licence

Yep, truck and bus drivers need one but some activities are exempt from use
